No person is ever truly alone.

Whom we loved,
Echo still within our thoughts,
Our words, our hearts.

kudos to these radio stations for observing her passing by playing slow insrumental numbers/prayers:- light & easy, MY FM, Traxx fm, Nasional FM, Muzik FM, AI fm, Minnal Fm, Klasik FM & IKIM fm.

was not amused by Mix, 98.8, flyfm, hitz, thr, era & red 104 for not showing some kind of condolences by just playing their "normal" playlist. the least they could hv done was to observe her passing at least till her burial around 4pm today.

With whatever strength she had even when she was so feeble she made a point to accompany her beloved husband for any official functions and she put so much of her effort to revive the batik industry in spite of her illness. Hope her pet interest will be continued for her sake. Its a pity we did not get her know her better.
She had a geninune heart for the poor and destitute.
God bless her soul and peace to her family.

Monday is not a holiday as speculated

News Update by The Star News Desk

KUALA LUMPUR: Monday is not a public holiday as claimed by an email circulated which purportedly claimed that Bernama had put out a neas item to the effect.

Bernama has disassociating itself with a report circulated through emails that Monday, Oct 24, has been declared a public holiday following the death of the Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Endon Mahmood Thursday.

Its Editor-in-Chief Datuk Azman Ujang said: "We have never released such a report. I believe this is the work of mischief makers."

He said Bernama would lodge a police report so that action could be taken against those responsible for circulating the emails which carried the falsified report.

The report was falsified by inserting an additional paragraph pertaining to the purported public holiday into the original report released by Bernama on Endon's death.

The Star, Bernama and other newspaper offices were inundated with telephone calls from members of the public seeking clarification on the matter after they received copies of such emails which carried the Bernama creditline.

Today - Malaysia and all Malaysians have lost a gem of a courageous woman. Even in poor health, she thought only of her country, family and friends. Never once did she publicly complain of her illness and even had planned so much for months to come.

Our family have had the honour of knowing her personally and we pray that God would bless her soul and keep her in His care.

Rest in Peace.

I don't really know how to put this, but in times when sorrow prevails, it always serves to reassure me that Malaysians are filled with good, kind hearted and emphatic people. Most of us do not even know this lady, have never met her and seldom read about her. Most of us know that our Prime Minister is utterly devoted to her, and most of us can picture what sort of sorrow lies in his heart.

And that matters most. It shows that for all that we have to face in our daily lives -- and often it's not pretty -- we still are human beings with a heart. I hope Pak Lah takes a little heart in seeing that we, as a Nation, are shocked, in deep sorrow, and as one, reach out and do our very best to make it known that we too, share his loss.

In a day when we all mourn, I find another reason to be a proud Malaysian.

Hitz & Mix were also playing slow instrumental numbers this morning. In fact that was how I found out when I got curious as to why Hitz was playing Kenny G and Clayderman.

turned on my radio at 9am to listen to the light & easy news and heard abt her passing. immediately after the news, L&E played musical numbers. changed to mix/hitz/etc to see if they too are respecting kak endon's passing but no!

was in office by 930am, so maybe these "offending" stations changed their playlist after that...

anyway when i left the office a 5pm, noted that all stations became "respectful" save for 98.8 and asyik fm.

Hi
Picked this from another forum to share.

Speech by Parliamentary Opposition Leader and DAP MP for Ipoh Timor Lim
Kit Siang in Dewan Rakyat on the condolence motion on the passing of
Endon Mahmood, wife of Prime Minister on Monday, October 24, 2005:

Endon's humility, kindness, graciousness and quiet courage to stand
up for what is right, true and noble should be an example and
inspiration to all Malaysians, in particular political leaders from
both sides of the political divide.

I rise to support the motion by the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri
Najib Razak to record the grief of Parliament and the nation on the
passing of Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, wife of the Prime Minister, and to
convey the deepest condolence of MPs from all political parties and the
Malaysian people of all races, religions, languages and cultures to the
Prime Minister and his family.

Endon's death on Thursday morning came as a shock to all Malaysians
as it was only on Tuesday that they read in the newspapers that she had
been discharged from hospital after showing good signs of recovery.
For two years, Malaysians had followed with concern and admiration the
battle she had waged against breast cancer, and although all knew that
she was up against great odds, all prayed and hoped that she could
fight the killer disease to a remission.

Although Endon had been the "first lady" as the Prime Minister's
wife just short of two years, unable to make many public appearances
because of her health, she had won a special place in the hearts of
Malaysians because of her kindness, graciousness, consideration,
humility and courage not to succumb to the killer disease, encouraging
women with breast cancer not to give up the fight - an inspiration
to Malaysians.

That Endon had carved out a special place in the hearts of Malaysians
was amply borne out by the national outpouring of grief regardless of
race, religion, territory or political affiliation with her sad and
tragic demise.

As I said to the grieving Prime Minister when I paid my last respects
to Endon at Sri Perdana on Thursday morning: "Be strong. Endon will
want you to be strong. You have my full support"

The best way to remember Endon is for all Malaysians, in particular
political leaders from both sides of the political divide, to emulate
her humility, kindness, graciousness and quiet courage to stand up for
what is right, true and noble.

Let us all dedicate ourselves to honour Endon's memory and uphold
her legacy by bringing to fruition her Malaysian dream of a clean,
incorruptible, just, open, accountable and transparent Malaysia where
the words "cemerlang, gemilang, terbilang" are not mere slogans

Beautiful eulogy from Lim Kit Siang.
