British citizenship for Straits Settlements folks

GOOD NEWS for British Overseas Citizens

Malaysians who were born or whose fathers had been born in the State of Penang (Pulau Pinang) or the State of Malacca (Melaka) may now be eligible to obtain British Citizenship or right of residence in the UK. :)

I believe it only applies if you were born before Merdeka - when those states were still British Straits Settlements.

And for those cases, isn't it true that one is only entitled one citizenship from either government?

Like HK ppl. They hold a BNO passport, but its pretty much useless since they still require visa to come to the UK
