Dear All,
Went to Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut) Taiping on Monday & Tuesday to have a break from city life. Im so suprised to found out that Maxwell Hill was totally unspoil and it is a paradise for nature lover. But unfortunately 2 days was too short for me to explore further into some other interesting activity.
One newly renovated bangalow namely Cendana Cafe is fantastic for photographer outing, but only malay food is serve in the cafe, the Nest bangalow is where we stay on monday, it is a bit old (100 years old), it maintain and managed by a couple who is in their sixties, we pay 20 bucks for a nite stay which include dinner and breakfast....I don't know where else we can find this deal. But down in Cendana Cafe is 80 bucks for 2 single bedroom, which still have new paint smell.
So now I propose our outing on Mid October or early November, what you all think?

Quote "Car will have to park below the hill. Only chattered 4x4 is allowed to drive up."
How far is the hike? Can we drive all the way to the chalet/bungalow?
Cant lug all the family things all the way up lar...
alanang
07-09-2005, 12:24 PM
I don't think cars are allowed up .. from the readings they say have to use the 4x4 to get up there ... hmmm ...
alex,
I think maybe you should do a budgetting for us .. how much we need to pay and all .. so easier for us to make the payment to you ... :)
SS19flyover
07-09-2005, 10:04 PM
fyi, it is compulsory to ride on the 4x4 to go up hill and down hill, only the pro driver can take up up there.
I will work out the budget and will let u all know later.

It might be tough for me and leonard with small kids, lots of luggage, cameras/lenses and weak knees.
Have to talk further if my family and I can come.

:(
cendana can oni fit 12 adultz, located right beside the road.
they dun allow more tn 2 adult in family room.... so they got 3 family room, 3 twin room.
d'nest can fit 35 adultz.... or more wit sleepin bag. but need to hike for 10 minutes.
cendana must make payment 2 confirm booking.
with baby I think is better to stay in cendana, to hike with baby is not advisable.
To be safe I think we have to decide by the end of this month, collect money and make the booking.
Hopefully we can see the tulip blossom! TULIP lah.....IN maxwell hill instead in Amsterdam!

SS19flyover,
I read this tread with interest as I may organise a trip for my family and some overseas friends in the very near future. Since you have been there, can you please help me with some advice.
1) Do we park our cars at the foot of the hill? If not where is normal safe place to park?
2) Rest House or Bungalow ..which is preferred...costs
3) Getting around the hill by cabs..? or strictly leg power...some elderlies might want to join in on this trip.
4) Favourite past time is FOOD....BYO or do they have good food up there?
Many thanks for help. :)
