Upset by DPM to not reveal the API until all of us just about to die. Semuanya OK. masih OK!! i can't see a damm thing for more than 100m.
Yes, it is going to scare away the all tourists and all the tourist are so dumb and blind not to see the haze!!! Who are we fooling? only ourself.

This government is extremely hopeless/no balls when coming to dealing with our neightbour Indonesia. We basically kowtow to them. Amnesty after amnesty for the illegal immigrants. Must treat them with teh tarik somemore. Now, with the s h i t on our face, we are still not telling them firmly that they must stop the jerebu. Otherwise, we shall sue for compensation in the world court.

Give us the API and inform the public on the situation and danger of the haze. Provide necessary health info.
Stop all the skools affected if necessary.

Tell the indo in their face!!!

Heh! Don't just point at our neighbour. Is our own backyard OK in the first place? But anyhow, someone must still be saying Semuanya OK with this developed state. A prequel for the countdown. Save the fireworks, save money!

Haze is caused by Sumatra fires, not local ones

News update by SIM LEOI LEOI

PUTRAJAYA: The haze currently overwhelming the country is not from any forest or bush fire in the country.

Fire and Rescue Services Department director-general Datuk Hamzah Abu Bakar said although a few hot spots had been detected in certain parts of the country, they had been either put out by firemen or were under control.

“The haze is caused by transboundary pollution from a neighbouring country.

“Firemen have been directed to be on standby. We are also advising Malaysians not to conduct any open burning which may worsen the situation.

“The public is urged to avoid any outdoor activity and wear face masks in open areas,” he said in a statement today.

The haze is really really worst since this morning. I think the Education Minister should issue an order for all schools in Klang Valley and affected areas to be close immediately, at least for this week. As usual, since Pak Lah is back, I think everyone is just waiting for him to make decision.

Too bad that my son is having his school examination this week, or else I would have stop him from going to school.

I agreed totally that our beloved leaders are absolutely doing nothing except to say all is still ok... absolutely BS.

The indons would have burnt the malaysian flag if Malaysia has the fire and the smoke gets to them, yet, we simply take it year after year.

If i recall correctly, there is suppose to be some regional arrangement to tackle such thing, since the last few 'hazes' years. why isnt anything activated? why the total silence ? are we really that scared of our neighbour?

I say friends, how can our Govt reprimand the Indo Govt, its our own Malaysian tycoons that own majority of the cultivating land in Sumatra and are responsible for this burning.

They burn and clear the jungle throught the year, its because of the prevailing winds during this period that smoke is being blown towards our region and our listless and dry weather makes it worst and adds to our misery.

We have heard this many times before but nobody had yet given a list of these Malaysian companies. If we can identify them, I am sure every Malaysian will hold them accountable...each citizen need only to donate 10 cents and we can sue them until kingdom come.
Those responsible for this nightmare have no right to exist.

I drove to Kerteh over the weekend, and was out at sea for some 12 hours on Sunday. It was defintely hazy there as well...

dont think it is due to fires at Cyberjaya or Putrajaya alone... not possible.

It's the wind direction blowing from the hot spots in Sumatra that caused the haze in Klang Valley. Penang just happens to be north of the hot spots and the wind didn't carry it up there. see diagram below..

Whoever came out with that great idea that the API readings should be classified under the OSA should now take responsibility and resign and if not should be sacked.. :D

I totally agree with huanguan. Most of the Yang Berhormat (YB) don't really feel the problems and inconvenience of the supporters because they live in the ivory tower !!!! Maybe it is because they think they have the right to enjoy the good life after the suffering they went through before became a YB. They forgot the right was given to them. The people can take that right away from them in the next election.

It is true that we heard too many saying Malaysian tycoons that own the plantation in Sumatra. Q:

1. BUT who are they?
2. WHERE are they staying and WHERE is their family now? Oversea?

Does Jeff got the way to dig these out?

But would the people do that?

They slavishly don't & won't.

If that had been the case, then, those folks being alluded to would not be elected in the first place...
