internet explorer pop up at starting

dear friends,

i am having this problem sometime already but don know how to get raid of if. do hope some1 can assist.

everything i start my pc the internet explorer will pop up with the website www.uu500.com...... b4 this it was ww.dy511.com... but i manage to delete in off line but not this time.

n this is a japanese pron website !!! which i do not know how it got into my pc.

your help is neede urgently... pls any1 can help?

For more serious case, try Hjack This ! But for Hijack This, you gotta know what you are deleting..........

stefanie, as jordan said, download the hijackthis from the www.download.com then reboot your pc into SAFEMODE. Which means, before you see the Windows XP logo starting, keep pressing the F5 button and you will be able to see some menu shown on the screen. Choose the first option and wait until the you get into safemode. Don't worry the colors of the screen, in the safemode, everything is 16 colors. Now, run the hijackthis that you had downloaded and erase those unwanted URLs that had been listed in the program. But, usually those popups a.k.a. adwares are hidden in the registry. So, everytime when you turn on your pc in Normal Mode, it will comes out again even though you had removed. So, you also can try to download another program to kill it. The program call NoAdware from www.noadware.net and you need to buy this program. Indeed I usually use this program to help my friends to kill all adwares. 99% sure works! :cool:

And i highly recommend that you make the switch to Mozilla Firefox. IE has way too many holes.

many thanks for the advises. i hv d adware n it deleted the 1st wan but not this wor. anyway will try other steps dis weekend... hope it works or got to go pc shop d.

btw, any1 know any good n reliable pc shop in usj ? mayb wan 2 reprogramme 2 window xp. hehe... i m stil using window98 leh... malu huh :p

If u are changing to WinXP please note that you need at least 256 MB RAM on board. Better to get 512 MB RAM - especially if your graphic processor shares the motherboard RAM. We have PCs in the office running WinXP on 128 MB RAM and I tell you those PCs are so slow that you'd want to chuck them out the window.

hehe... got bigger problem now leh. i tried correcting it according to advise given but ... now veri serious leh. mayb i did something or deleted something wrong :D everytime go to window 98 now my wallpaper missing but got warning msg saying my pc hijack liau. :confused:

mayb would be best if someone can introduce me any pc guys around subang/usj which can do a OK job (off course i prefer some1 who can do a great job but don think its possible to find) i have change many pc guys cos none do a OK job, usually its losy. :( any recommendation ?
