Hi all, I'm new to the forum. Hope to find out whereabouts in SJ/USJ where I can donate some old text books (mint condition), clothes and toys? The bin for donating stuff in Summit was removed recently when I went there to donate?! Thanks!

One option is the main road leading to Goodyear Court 7, USJ14. Collection is every 2nd Sat of the month. Normally, there'll be a banner under the big tree informing when is the next collection.

Hi Kheng, welcome to the forum.
I'm in Bandar Seri Begawan so my info. might be outdated. However, if you are around Centrepoint Building in Bandar Utama, there is a permanent collection box on one side of the building operated by some charitable organisation. Its a drop-in box and they collect everything from old clothings to books and mags and whatever useful for the under-privileged. Check it out! :D

You can donate to the Salvation Army located in Old Klang Road - Just give them a call and they will pick it up.

if the textbooks are your children's (or could be yours considering that the usj community is anywhere between their teens to the eighties) school textbooks, check with the school's welfare society to see if they could give it to a student in need.

there's clothes collection every 1st saturday of the month at USJ4/5 from 8am to 1pm (that's tomorrow).
the clothes collection in taipan is on 1st sunday of the month also from 8am to 1pm. i've seen the banners flapping around in these areas.
i'm actually going to the casablanca (USJ 4/5) one tomorrow to donate some clothes, will check and see if they collect other things as well.

went to the USJ 4, near casablanca collection area. they take a lot of things, for instance clothes, magazines, glass, tins, cardboards. didn't see any newspaper though.

For books, I donate to the Kuan Yim temple in pj for their library, rather than to recycle bins!

I have discovered that books and other stuff donated to some centre and recycle centres are finally sold to the chaps in the flea markets. So might as well as go the Flea market in Am Corp or anywhere else and sell them and donate the money to whoever you wish.
Btw anyone want to sell or dispose your records, lps, please get in touch with me.
