Can anyone help here get a suggestion to MPSJ and the parking operator in Taipan....

I was in Taipan this afternoon and man.... the traffic was exceptional terrible. Even YAB(Yang Amat Bersabar?) Tupai would have fainted! Then it got me thinking cap going.... the reason for the gridlock in Taipan is because of the lack of parking space on the main thoroughfares. People are forced to double park on either sides of the road effectively turning a dual lane- one way street into a single lane. Finally in desperation (kids hungry and no parking bays...) I parked my car in the multi storey carpark in the middle of Taipan... now the best part is - that 15-20 minutes cost me RM2. Now in the MULTI STOREY CAR PARK, they HAD AMPLE PARKING BAYS ! And I had to walk to the darn restaurant to pick up the pre-ordered spagetti from FlaminJ place....

Suggestion... What if MPSJ increases the parking fees on the main roads around Taipan to discourage long term parking/hogging by the office workers there. Then the extra fees collected on the main roads would then be used to subsidies the parking fees in the multi storey building... thus clearing more parking lots on the outside....

I think the only way to hurt the vehicle owner is through the wallet. So if a person is willing to pay a bit more for convenience... park at your cost. Right now there is no incentive to part in the multistorey car park... fact is, it is even be more expensive to park inside the multistorey carpark NOW that people just doublepark on the outside... to the chagrin and inconvenience of everyone else.

:( Am I getting the idea/story through....

You can increase the parking all you like but in case you have not noticed there's a lot of them who do not bother to pay the parking. :( It's all a matter of attitude and these are the people who are bringing up the next generation. Go figure.

yes i agree... malaysians are so cheapskate and lazy too walk... the council has already done their job of providing ample parking space the public car park but people are still not using it.. what else can the council do? maybe permanently station an attendant to summon those parking indiscrimately? hit em where it hurts most eh...

precisely.... but part of the problem is the parking charges are also pretty ridiculous as it is now... if the prices were in reverse... maybe people ( specifically office people) would park their cars in the multi storey carpark thus creating more parking ( abiet more expensive...) for people whom need to park for a shorter period of time on the street side.... and FINE those who are not parking properly or paying the parking fees... with heavier fines... as the saying goes, if there's a will - there's a way....

nope, i disagree 110%!
Malaysians want gaya...they will pay rmXXX a month to a stylish gym and walk the threadmills... Even if the parking was free, Beats me why these same malaysians cannot walk 50metres to the entrance of say, the supermarket???

Yang Akan Bejalan-jalan Lato tupai

p/s I will only pay RmXXX/mth to walk the threadmill in a stylish gym if the fellow walkeress in the front threadmill has a gorgeous set of eye poppin' derriere, but there is no guarantee such eyecandy is a daily sight, is there? :D

I agree with Tupai. There are plenty of lazy jokers who would just double park their cars even when there are available parking because it is covinient for them. And this happens very often everywhere.

i totally agree with tupai too. these people are so lazy, that they still double park even though another idiot have already double parked on the opposite side of the road, thus making it an even narrower bottleneck.

in their puny minds, it's always, "only five minutes wat". yeah right! it should also take the policeman less than one minute to write out a summon.

in the first place, when u look at the plan of taipan,

it is confined to relatively a small piece of land BUT has PLENTY of shops,

banks, all the essential trading places one will converge...............

so what u expect ???? all will converge there lah !!!!

the only way out is to re locate the businesses to other usj section or

station permanently enforcement officers there to tulis saman .......

to discourage triple parkings .....................

mpsj will be laughing to the bank if only they station a few of their boys

there, their gaji will be only peanuts compared to the total samans

that can be collected .............

just look at usj 9 area, do u see this mess there ?

because there are less 'tarikan' there ............................

my observation only lah ...........

In my opinion, the traffic in Taipan gets worst after the roads are changed into one-way streets. Vehicles take opportunity of the widened roads to double-park on both sides. As a result, the road turned into one lane, instead of two-lane of one-way traffic!!!

Worst traffic conditions are along these roads:
1) from HSBC to Burger King stretch
2) from McDonald to Ampang Yong Towfoo

Sometimes I wish there's a traffic police or two who would walk towards those car drivers who are blocking traffic and slap a summon on these drivers' faces!!!! I have seen one police man who did that! I respect him for his assertiveness!! Hee....he.....as long as I am not the victim la!! But his action truly made the other traffic offender drove away!
