Doesn't really surprise me. What surprises me is that even with articles like this coming out, certain erm... people in high positions of the government say that Proton manufactures cars of world class standard. I mean, shouldn't they realise that something is wrong when cars that start with a certain company's name keeps getting dissed time and time again???

The worst car....em the car that broke in three parts and killed its driver at Jalan Tujuan lately.

I wouldn't bother too much with the award given by autozine. This is a private website run by a Hong Kong guy who doesn't even have a license to drive. He just compiles all the info he can get on the net and writes his own 'absentee' review. I can bet he has never even seen the Savvy or a Gen2 in the flesh and yet he can rank a car as best or worst from hearsay? hahaha :D :D

quite in agreement with PJS... i would not put my dollar on the auto zine fella... it is just one person's opinion.

Err...in this sorta thingy...it would NOT take much time...for consumers of Potong or the end users of Gen2....to figure out whether or not they have made the right choice...:p

all said and done about proton, the real test for them wud be how many cars they can sell overseas (making reasonable profits), if they cannot sell, then better bungkus.
in a global market, only good and innovative products will survive.
we all want the best from proton (that's why we are complaining), so that they can compete at the highest levels. if they continue these way, both TM also cannot help.

i hope james bond's words of wisdom "never says never" works for proton and our sake as our tax money are in it. i do believe it can be done, they need to change. get in good people - cut under tables.

then again, i may be too ideal..........

But they acquired lotus for some years already.. This sound weird, in the sense that they doenst have sufficient knowledge people, they should have the technology from lotus engineering... Unless the integration is "Still under progress..." Hehe...

Still chances must be given to them...

Err...welcome to the webforum folks:)...the Potong company has probably either bought a nutshell instead...without the nuts...or they could be so stupid NOT to realize that....lotus is a traditional supercars producer...

Ahem...would they know anything about making small or medium size compact cars to please the masses...?

Err...the old saying goes...ada gaya mah!...lotus wor!...

Then again...IF they really got balls in the first place... to buy RollsRoyce?...now that's a completely different story altogether...:)

then again, when proton bought over lotus, maybe we thought that they can teach us how to make a car but we forgotten that british now where can make car!!!
lotus was losing money when we beli. maybe we kena sucker pulak.

did you guys read in newspaper today saying that proton arena (jumback) is selling well in aust, with big % increase in sales, but no mention about number of units. if we sell 10 units in 2004 and now we sell 20 units in 2005, in % is 100% increase, tapi in units = peanuts. not enough to pay salary................

Agreed! Cut the table legs...if any transaction, do it in the open!

Agreed! For goodness sake, it is yours, mine and family's investment to the future...ie: jobs, businesses, supplies, etc. Bearing in mind, most of the foreign car makers are not in town at all; ie Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines... one day Vietnam and Myanmmar too! Should the National project closes, imagine the jobs and business moving elsewhere...
