I've been hearing a lot of rumours about what this Jaya Square building is going to house...

It's the building right next to the police station in SS17, facing what used to be the old roundabout - now under contruction...

I've heard that it's going to house a club which will have gaming facilities (slot machine, small card tables)..

Anyone can confirm anything?
from the external furnishing and expensive lighting, it may seem that what i've heard is true... And there was no (ZERO) notice to subang residents. No sourcing of opinion, no survey.. all was very hush-hush... someone made a lot of money from this no doubt.

Late one night i saw a large banner being put out - i believe it said "Imperial China opening soon", but was taken down before the following morning?

If it's true, I'm very disappointed. We clear up all the 'tonto's' and illegal 'horse race' gambling for what??? so that MPSJ can "legalize" it so that the authorities can make money by tax??

The council should step down if they had approved such a negative and detrimental business to operate in SS17, right next to housing areas.. and near schools..

No good will come from this - it will attract the wrong crowd to Subang and a bad influence to youngsters.... SMK SS17, SMKSJ and SMKSU is barely a stone's throw away. Will the underage now turn to more 'exciting' persuits?

Thumbs down to the councillers who approve the license for them to operate.. (if it's true)

Any one can confirm anything?? anything we subang-ites can do?

In 1979 when I book for my house in SS17, I don't remember seeing that this place was allocated to be a commercial project.

Say TAK NAK to Barang Naik govt!!!

Err...not surprisingly...what would be stated in their application for business license...could be 'pusat hiburan' or 'pusat rekreasi'...ahem...or something like that...of err...'pusat urut tradisional'...or 'kelab'...which would not be a bad option for these money-hungry-low-moral business antics...

Hey!...Orchi thought there were those colleges lika metropolitan...taylor...inti...there as well within a couple of stone throw distances from it too...?

Ahem...should the joint or 'modus-operandi' be associated with the tan's empire...wonder what folks gotta expect any less of it...?!

So, that's the name of the building?

I always thought that it's a multilevel car-park + hawker food courts for SS15.

The building will host a Chinese restaurant, a karaoke joint and probably gaming facilities.

It belongs to Dijaya. The restaurant is part of the Tai THong group and will be the largest in the group. TheTai THong restaurant from USJ10 will close and move there. The karaoke place is SOngbird. They will probably have a membership based club with slot machines etc as the concept is based on their two other similar buildings in SS2 (Caesar's club) and Damansara Intan.

My info from the Tai Thong restaurant in USJ10 which I patronise frequently and a friend who works in Tai THong HQ.

AHAHAH.. largest, at this time. And then they'll close and then open another again.. the cycle will continue to repeat.

It is not a good idea to build an amusement centre of this sort in this place, there would a jam and also give raise to social problems. Want to gamble, play cards golah to genting..RM 5 saja naik bas pun boleh sampai! :D

Tai Tong are bad paymasters when you supply them stuffs. I know 'cos wifey used to work in a commercial kitchen supply line. All the line, some money needs to change hands, under the table also.

This is bad news, whoever approved the licence for this joint should be shot..in the midst of a residential area and why next to the police station, for protection?

It's not like i'm against progress or anything... but I think that MPSJ shouldn't have allowed this one.

If they needed more funds they should keep going after those double parkers in front of bank row during saturday morning...

and those who don't pay their parking coupons...

Can u imagine the type of ppl who are going to patronize the place? and it's going to be next to the intersection of the old roundabout... which brings me to the topic of NPE.... grrr.. i'm gonna put up another post on this npe madness
