Hi, where do you all go to look for contractor to make grille for doors and windows? The design has been set by the management as this is an apartment. How much am I looking at grilles (not stainless steel) for 2 doors and windows for three bedrooms and one livingroom?

It would be nice to have wrought iron grilles if you are living in an apartment. Strong and durable yet very pleasing to the eyes and not like those 'penjara-type' aluminium grilles lah :D There is one good one in Kota Kemuning but let me try and get the contact for you from my better half :D coz we just got him to go all the way up to Ping Leng to do our little house there.

Hi, Greenbug and patrick, thanks for the response. The management insists on a white color standard design, so cast-alloy, wrought-iron, stainless steel and aluminum seems out of my shopping list, only common carbon steel is the only option, I think.

Err...there are 'plenty' of reasons...why them freaking property management companies...want to enforce 'certain' rules n regulations...pertaining to many thingys...especially on the issue of window n door grills...

Ahem...more often than not...they prefer n approve ONLY certain 'works'...by certain suppliers....

Orchi suggests...you may wanna check with the management again...of which supplier...they would wanna 'recommend' to you...instead

May i know what is your built up area ?
if normal grill should be around 8-1k...
last 2 years should be around 600-800....now steel already expensive...
but if it's a 1000++ sq ft kondomimium the price should be higher...
but its all depend on the window size...
now the new design kondominium, the window size is totally different from a common window...
My recommendation is just find a grill contractor "stick around " at your kondominium to do the job...
normally their price is quite reasonable than the outside contractor...

Now you can see alots of new condominium and apartment already set-up their own grill design....it all about their management....
that what i had always experience...
the reason is, they dont want to see a "rojak" colour for their condominium...

Just my 2 cents :)

Thanks orchi & Kaconcept. I will go ask the management for the recommended contractor. Hope it will be around 1K. My apartment is 1050 sq.ft. Cheers.

velociraptor, if you still need a grill maker, let me know. I can recommend you one who did the grills for my Sri Ara apartment.

Rgds.

Thanks, patrick. Just read your mail after I 've engaged a contractor. The quote is RM1200. I've seen his work in pelangi Damansara. Quite a decent job for that price, so I used his work.

If you dont want any trouble with the developer have to follow their stupid design which is basically square prison grills. I did mine differently and they refuse to return my deposit!
