i would like to find out from whom i shall claim in the event of water leaking from upper unit, mgmt of the apartment or the owner of upper unit? it is a 10yrs-old apartment. What if none of them want to take responsibility? how much does it cost to hire a lawyer for such matter?

Don mind me asking, r u a tenant or owner of the unit? If you're the owner, hv u check the the terms & conditions in the SPA? There shld be details on the obligations of the property mgmt...

My mom faced similar prob couple of years ago...wat she did was, she reported to the property mgmt & they did an investigation on the source of leakage...result shows leakage was due to internal piping of the building. So, they fixed it up & re-painted the water spots on the wall...

rachel, thanks for your reply. i am the owner and have been dealing with mgmt and upstair owner for 2 years whereby only did very little after pushing very hard. However they tend to drag week after week, even they did ask the workers to fix (no experience foreign worker, cant understand b.malay or english) but nothing can be solved. dunno where is the source of the water marks. Need a lot of patience... :(
