Has anyone used Flickr?

Read about it in Star's InTech. Seemed like InTech is a good reference for the latest trend in IT for a layperson like me who has a keen interest in IT.
What do you people refer to for info on latest IT softwares, gadgets?

I'm using flickr to post loads of my photos, it's a great site and have been acquired by yahoo a few months back. so far (touch wood) yahoo have not plastered the site with all their ads and stuff, so it's great.

flickr has 2 types of account. the normal free one is where you can upload up to 200 photos and the pro account (which costs about USD25 a year) where there's no limit of photos uploaded.

it's got groups where one can join and post photos relevant to the group's description, or you can start your own group.

the flickr community is pretty nice except for 1 or 2 trolls around (who mostly get ignored anyways).

if you want to post photos for your own collection, there's a feature that lets you "private" your photos individually or by default. these photos then can only be viewed by yourself when you log into your acct.

you can also set the photos to be view only by "friends" and/or "family". this means your flickr contacts whom you've ticked as a friend or family, or both.

hope this helps.
