Anyone tried the Cheese Crab here?

Wow, it's delicious!!! It was my first trip there this evening! The place was very crowded.

The Cheese Crab goes very well with fried man tou (fried bun). Mmm yum yum.
But the other dishes that we ordered is not such great...e.g. Gu Lou Yoke (sweet sour pork).

Will certainly return for their Cheese Crab again!

If anyone knows of other good dishes from this restaurant, do let me know yah!
Saw a dish served in a pineapple, wonder what it is!

Maybe someone should just help us to draw out a map in here so that we would know how to get there.

Next time I would know what to order already. Only seafood, no meat there. Sometimes it's so weird you know, some restaurants are so good in making delicous and unforgettable crabs / prawns / fish but when it comes to simple dish like meat or vege ... totally out of it ... :(

yes, it's near to kampong chempaka but not quite there. using the LDP from Sunway to kelana jaya direction, look out for the Catholic Church on the left hand side.

immediately after the church, turn left and u will come to a small roundabout. Keep to your left and turn 9 o'clk (3 o'clk direction will lead u to kampong chempaka).

Go up straight and the road will lead u to turn to the right curve (u should see the signboard 'baywatch' cafe/pub on your right), follow the road and go straight up all the way down . and u should be able to watch out for Wong Poh Restaurant on the right hand side, which is located at an older shoplots (not the new one). as the road in front of the rest. is one-way, u may want to turn in to the right junction when u see a chinese coffee shop.

I have tried the food there, and yes they are infamous for the claypot crabs fwith cheese. enjoy!

PJ Seafood Rest.? Up the hill? hmmm are u referring to the rest. which is formerly known as the Fishing Pond?

if so, this is another seafood rest. within that area (u can reach that by going all the way straight down, passing the Wong Poh rest. until u come to a junction, turn left. just before the tunnel, turn left, i think they have a very small signboard that u can missed easily and u should be able to see the rest. then).

Anyway i heard the rest. is taken over by a new owner and food there not great anymore(?), which may explain the name change..i haven't try the food there anymore as the last time i went there with friends, the place was closed, there was some road construction going on and the place was just too dusty.

do check out the posting made by franky on that restaurant :p

Fishing Pond or not .. that I wouldn't know  All me know is that, when the first time i tried that place, food is okay .. not bad!! the place was crowded also ...

Now I think the sign board is a big one which u can't missed it ... cos from Damansara Highway also I can see it ... another entrance to this place is from Tropicana there. :p

The setting of that place reminds me of Teluk Gong in Klang. Where they serve their infamous 'todi' .. food there now not that good anymore :(

No, Wong Poh Rest and PJ Seafood Rest are across of one another, with the NKVE highway separating them.

Follow the direction given by Roger, he seems to know the place very well. The landmark to note is when you see some shoplots approaching you, after the Alam Suria shoplots, keep to the left. Wong Poh is among the row of shops facing this road. It's usually crowded so be there early esp on weekend!

Have a great weekend checking it out, yah!

Yes, the claypot 'nie yau' cheesy crabs.....simply delicious!!! But pricing/kg can be a little higher if compared to Port Klang -- ok for PJ standard. Been sometime since I last visit Wong Poh, that reminded me on their home made soya beans! Used to be the best I've ever tasted not sure if it's' still that good.

Had dinner in Wong Poh again this evening. We tried a new dish, i.e. Nam Yee Crispy Fried Chicken. It's marvellous. It was served with a tangy chilli sauce, similar to chicken rice chilli sauce, but more on the sourish end. Turned out to be a perfect accompaniment for the dish! Try it on your next trip there!

I tried the Nam Yee Crisy Fried Chicken during my last trip to Singapore, its nice....if blended with the correct sauce.

JangMi, you should go. I was there two weeks. Yummmmm :)

But must caution you, the traffic going from Subang onto the LDP is really horrendous but the meal at the end it was WORTH IT!!!

Another way to get there instead of LDP is via NKVE. Then exit at Damansara. Drive towards BU11, and from there find your way to Dataran Prima. It's certainly a faster way to reach this place then via LDP.

Another way is to drive to Subang airport. Make a U-turn at the round-about. After seeing Petronas Station, move on till you see SPCA at a junction. Turn left into the junction. You will see the LRT's depot there. Follow the traffic through squatters, new apartments and that will lead you to Crimson apartment. Go through a tunnel and voila! You will arrive in Kelana Jaya, very near to the church. After the church (located along LDP) turn left at the row of shop houses in Tmn Mayang. Then turn left at the round about ahead of you. Drive along and you will find Wong Poh on your right after Aman Suria.......I know this is quite a long instruction but it's really a complicated way to guide one to Dataran Prima, where Wong Poh is closely located. I tried my best to provide the guide here.....hee hee...hope it helps.
