Good day fellas...
Have anyone been approached by "product surveyors" at home lately? Well I think they have changed their approach and have set up shop in shops and hypermarkets lately....hmmm ~ better pedestrian.shoppers traffic perhaps
I was at our local GIANT in USJ 1 and was approached by a Chinese youth, asking me to put up a sticker/banner on my car window to advertise their "never heard of..." 'baby' products (?) and as a gesture of thanks, invited me to "win" a mystery gift....
I guess curiousity got the better of me, and followed the youth to their outlet beside the KFC outlet at GIANT. What got me suspicious was that the inside of the shop unit was compartmentalized into private mini cubicles... with a PC setup for a the Lucky Draw spin.... For privacy?? ( ya...right!)
Now the story gets better... the fella start yakking about electrical products and brand names and e-mall etc etc ( sounds pretty familiar now huh...) and then offers me to press a button for the LUCKY spin... and I win a tissue box! haha :D .... then he offers me to win more stuff by agreeing to 'certain conditions' first... ( ....that's when my handphone rings - it was wifey but I pretended to talk to someone in the police... ) His facial expression changes from extremely friendly to extremely cautious.... - not knowing if I was a cop or what!!!! when he spies the (expired aux!) police ID in my wallet - guess what.... interview/survey is suddenly ended... why ah!!
Anyway - just be careful, seems these fellas work from all sorts of angles - as long as there are gullible people, these fellas will always be around.....
Cheers :p :D

Another one in Jalan Kenari, Pusat Bandar Puchong, offers free gifts by calling up your house phone, porportedly thanking you for subscribing to TELEKOMS for more than 2 years.... (hmm... since when Telekoms were so generous eh :D , they normally reward subcribers by raising the monthly rental!! :p )
Ada betul ka!!?

Well, I got a call from them and I don't know how they got my nbr as I've just changed it. Anyway, as an "old ginger", I went there to listen to the crap and then walk away with the el cheapo hot water flask.

Ain't it better still to alert the police......else they continue to scam innocent victims.........or better still to alert the MPSJ..........revoke their license.......wonder why they get such accurate tip-off for VCD piracy but this kind of thing just unheard of...........maybe they can use a gun against piracy traders but these ppl just too smart for them eh...........conmen indeed......

Yeah, I think I passed by the shop last week trying to locate the ATM. The shop got many unbranded electrical items. The shop looks like running funny funny stuff to me.

I just wonder whether the police can do anything about this, or whether there's any crime involve?
3 months back, I got a call from someone with a similar tactic. Told me I won something, and have to collect it from their shop near Tesco Puchong. I told them "OK, OK", but didn't believe them, so I didn't go and collect my prize.
Then just last month, they called again, asking me why I didn't come and collect the prize. They told me "Hey, jangan takut, kita bukan itu tipu punya. Saya tau encik takut sebab sekarang banyak itu tipu punya, gores & menang lar, tikam lar. Kita bukan itu macam punya. Kita betul punya." But I told her I m not interested. Where got free lunch in this world wan...

Somehow I have a feeling that the private cubicle and the PC was for you to key in your personal data and credit card numbers.
My dad have had this experience once, but luckily he doesn't have any credit cards, and didn't have much cash with him (RM500++ only). The funny thing is that he end up buying a massager (the one you put on a chair and then sit on it) with his RM500 cash. And after that, he came home telling us that he was not completely 'conscious' throughout the whole ordeal. He said he felt like "floating" in the air..
I am afraid that there are some jampi-jampi involved in this scam as well. But this incident happened in our hometown in Melaka.

Anyway, the intention of posting this bit of info is to alert our good neighbors of these kind of e-mall business 'nonsense'... :p
Have spoken to the police and they seems very reluctant to act on this bit of info.
Curiously, the capital involved in setting places like these up isn't small ~ I wonder where they get their capital ??
Sometimes - when people get 'ripped' off, they are more embarrased than anything else ~ :p I would be if I got scammed !! so they keep quiet and not get the police into it.... ( i'm sure some of us here know what I mean... :D )

Pliss lah...don't bother the overworked, understaffed pdrm. they are better off doing whatever they r supposed to do. NOT wasting time chasing after these 'generous' bizzmen who survived b'cos the 'bodoh victims' wer/are actually greedy people.
Besides, these generous bizzmen are not commiting any crime..u scratched, u won a tupperware, u SIGNED document to buy worthless electrical products in order to win a perdana...so who's the sucker?
Where got free lunch, let alone electrical thingy & car in this world?
tupai-can-buy-his-own-free-gifts.
p/s A bizzman credo: its a sin to let suckers keep his money.

Never try never noe mah.......if someone say got free perdana.......and for instance myself being quite some time planning to get one.....out of sudden someone offer to me.........ain't this tempting and make me for few seconds a bit like walking on cloud 9 .....................ahem..........and greed is a human trait........else we won't be tempted to accumulate 6.9 millions.......... :D .........unless all of us can survive on mere peanuts and groundnuts..........hehehe ;) ...........else we will alwiz fall trap to the devil's temptation..........if this world got no free lunch...........then surely no samaritans or philanthropist whoever said they are............
To advocate such sin is to demand for more of this to come.........I might be stupid to fall trap but then.........I buy lottery also with the hope that Mother Luck will strike me one day and me happily living like a duke with 6.9 millions................life............so great lar.......... :D ........if tupai can utter such words......then he possibly oredy achieve his fortune and living happily liao........good for u then!! :)
