hi all

is the jpj computerised test license guaranteed zero defect?

i concluded that the failure is my own fault anyway (maybe was being too rushy? or..whatever i can come up with to blame myself & not the system), but i am going to give it a benefit of a doubt...

i went to my L license test for the 2nd time (my 1st L expired and had to take a new one, i even already took some driving classes a.k.a i know how to drive but oh well time passed by so fast)

anyway the test (as every1 already knew) breaks into 3 parts:

(1) 5 qs of color vision testing (e.g. http://www.eyesearch.com/interactive.eye.tests.htm)
(2) 5 qs of numbers and letters test? (reading the plate number e.g what is this plate # KFF 4566 A. KFD 4666 B. KED 5466 C. KFC6546 D. KFF 4566)
(3) all the undang2

i did my homework, even did the demo test prior the test and had no problem passing & i "thought" i do have a good vision (never wear glasses my whole life) but the result's quite shocking (to me & people around me LOL e.g my sisters, friends even my driving school buddies - even some of my buddies wearing thick glasses passed the test!!!)

i passed the color blind no problem at all, BUT i failed on the license plate part!! e.g.

WXH 7788
A. WXH 8878
B. WKX 7788
C. WHX 7788
D. WXH 7887

i mean come on how hard is this to figure out a no-brainer license plate question?? there's no trick to it!! just read the number and press the correct answer that has the correct plate number!! plus some of the plate numbers in the questions were those ive done during my computerised demo test. i was hella nervous when the test result came out the first time as "Anda Gagal"...

i was given the 2nd chance and i did it very carefully this time.....checked my answer. so at the final click to finish the "plate number" test, i was praying to let this one went thru .....and voila???? (not quite!)

I FAILED.

and i cannot continue to the 3rd part of the rest. i was shut down right there. zero de nada i waited 2-hours for the test for nothing.

i went out and asked the person in-charge there that i swear to god LOL (except i wasnt laughing at that time but rather upset & nervous) that i answered everything right, i "thought" i had no problem with my eyes and is there anyway or any possibilities at all, that ahem... the system could be acting up and *coughs* screwed my answers? (i had like 5 secs pc hangs and clicked one answer twice - i used mouse to click on the right answer instead of using keyboard to avoid pressing the wrong character). i am although not a whiz, is a computer literate..dont think there's issue like i cannot use keyboard, pc whatsoever.

so the guy there said "you failed" (oh yeah thanks for the reality check sir LOL like i dont know that) so i requested can you print my itemized result cuz i would really like, love and DYINGGGG to find out what did i answer wrong from the plate number test (which i thought even if my 9 y/o brother took the test would pass in flying colors becuz it's simply ABC & 123567890 test). i was pretty damn sure that i was careful and will not make a lousy mistake such as pressing the wrong character for the answer (but not over-confident or anything like that)

ok long story short...No, they cant print my answers cuz the system cant do that and i failed cuz the computer said so and for that being said i rest my case.

this failure really now makes me contemplating every second if my vision is somehow deteriorating (i'm 26 y/o). im reading every sign/billboard/plate numbers/anything at all LOL to see whether or not i am losing my vision....

so since i failed, i have to get an eye test (more $$ need spent) and certified doctor report stating that my eyes are AOK to drive for further test. the eye test however must be done through government hospitals only.

doh you know lah how government hospitals...after the test i went straight away to register at &%^$* Hospital and guess what, i have to wait 2 weeks to get the appointment for the test. i went to do pre-eye test by reading those E F G 8 4 5 letters chart and the assistant said that my eyes are okay and asked me what did i do wrong. not forgetting to mention she said that how kacang goreng the "plate number" test is. i was like omg if another person told me that that day, that the plate number test is kacang goreng .....i am going to shot myself LOL (kidding) BECAUSE HECK, I ALREADY KNEW THATTT.

honestly i am dissapointed of my super simple mistakes (although im not sure what was it) but maybe there's good thing behind this that maybe there's a problem with my eyes...we'll see how the eye test result come out...i hope its really my eyes after all or human error (which was me LOL) whilst answering those questions that i double-checked.

sorry for the rants. just cant get over it LOL

although any thoughts appreciated. thanks.

p/s sometimes i feel like i rather do the manual test instead of computerised (which now obselete) where you circle/blackened your answer with your pen/pencil using your hand, where you read E F 8 5 6 0 E letter chart with one of your eye closed and said back those numbers & letters out loud!!! now i have to spend another 50 bucks just to re-test! enough paying almost RM800 for the whole license thing!! o boy if only i could turn back time...

So should we also fail you? You know in exam, you don't have a second chance. I also took the eye test and I failed too - miserably. Since you said this is a no brainer test, for one moment I thought I have lost my brain until LMei pointed out that she couldn't even find a match.

once again the example there was just to illustrate - i did not even realized theres no match cuz i made it up (i didnt check it during the posting either, i just typed what i felt and submitted it! too late to edit though.)

the "plate number" test for most people (i think) it is pretty easy because many people told me so (it was ludicrous when i told them i failed that one). i concluded that i failed probably because i rushed? my double-checked answers still wrong? or....i don't know. so i well deserved fail. but no longer dissapointed LOL after the rants ive posted here.

im not sure the doctor eye test will be easy for me either. would be good to know though...who knows i do have eye problem and just didn't realize it. wish me luck though.
