Was told by a friend that the new Meaty House (same row as Starbuck in Taipan) serves very good ribs! Went to check out the menu today and its list of choices are impressive - especially for those who loves pork! It's a non-halal restaurant.

Has anyone been there before? Pls share with us your experience.

Will be going there to check it out tomorrow. Looking forward to it! Yum! Yum!

Yes, Meaty House ribs are pretty good. Try their BBQ Baby Ribs, it is quite a large portion. The pork chop is nice too.

According to their literature the product they sell in the restaurant are all produced in their own farms, hmm. There's another branch in Damansara Utama, same row as The Ship.

Bon appetit! :)

Ahem.....here's the result:

- Our Mexican Spicy Ribs were delicious.
- I love the bacon and ham soup

My friends had:

- German pork knuckle - it's very good!! We were told that it's their most famous dish in their menu. It's a huge knuckle and for pork lovers, this would be heavenly!!!

- Pork chop - it's a BIG slice!

All main courses are served with 3 side dishes. Seemed like there are many side dishes to choose from (similar to Kenny Roger's concept). But over here, you can't view the side dishes and there are no menu to tell you what are available. So, just ask the friendly May to list them down for you. As I can recall, there are:

- coleslaw (I liket it)
- sauerkraut
- garden salad
- potato chips
and more...........

The staffs are friendly people. A compliment to May who helped to organize the birthday dinner well. The waiters are very courteous too. We had a lovely birthday celebration, surrounded by nice food and people! And of course nice environment! Hope it continues to stay that way!

In summary, we all enjoyed our meals and the place is a nice hangout for a group of friends. Cosy set-up and quiet enough for us to have a proper conversation. Price is reasonable. For 5 adults, we paid RM136 and that's value for money! Hope Meaty House won't raise its prices - in case someone from there read this!

Btw, it's true Meaty House is a manufacturer of processed pork products e.g. bacon, ham, sausage and etc.

:p

Errr........might have miss out on this earlier..........went there yesterday but saw just few patrons inside........and assuming that if a shop got not much ppl then certainly the food just not much ummppphhh..........and walk to the some seng seng huat Bah Kut Teh shop......claimed to be under Klang Bridge........

Tried the bah kut teh.....emmm.....not bad though.........ordered 1 vege......1 plate of taugeh........and a small claypot of pork..........plus one more bowl of yau char kuai.............rice 3 bowls........and 1 tik kuan yin tea..........for 2 pax...........come about RM3+.++..........which i believe already include service and gormen charges.............

Will certainly try this meaty the next time round..........but i find price a bit high lar.....at Klang.......for such portion...........i was only charged below 25 (2 pax)...............u noe lar........no service and gormen charge mah.......hehehe :D .........which explain why everytime after eating oso sweat sweat......stinky........hihihihi  .....................

but......RM136 for bah kut teh (5 pax)........????.................i've eaten bah kut teh for 5 pax at onie RM40.............minus the air-cond and comfort lar.............emmmm.....must think hard lar.........

However......if it is anything to come by like u said.......then must give a try......belum cuba belum tahu........sekali kena dua kali mahu..........dua kali cuba..........hari-hari mau.......... :D

Hee...heee....Bakuteh below Klang River Bridge vs Bakuteh in Taipan....though the recipe is the same........but don't forget the rental is far, far different!

That's why you have to pay 3 times more (i.e. RM40 in Klang vs RM136 in Taipan).......it's all becoz of the high rental in Taipan lor! Air-cond just add up to the cost! :D

Wow ... after reading all those yummy delicacies that you ppl mention .. my heart felt like going there to try it the following day but that stops until I read the pricing side.

My goodness, for 5 person it's $136!!! Hmm ... end of the month is coming soon. So I guess , if I really wanna check out this place whether is it as good as it says in here, I have to re-calculate my budget of the month.

Anyway, is there any special treatment if I bring a b'day gal there to celebrate? Special pricing I suppose? :D

my experience, the first time we tried, the food was good, then the 2nd time wasn't that great after they added the bak kut teh and braised pig trotters into their menu. i think they become ROJAK, i rather they stick with their western theme.

Meaty House, Dsara Utama. Fabulous baby ribs *lip smacking* Heard the BKT oso not bad, will try some day. Their pork knuckles is a bit dry, but not bad. At least cheaper than Deutches Haus pork kunckles.

If u r a meat lover, Meaty house is the place. I went on last Sat and tried out 3 recommended dish : Baby ribs, German Pork knuckle & sausages. The food is nice but a bit pricey. The pork meat is fr their own farm and they sell fresh pork as well. They manufactured their home brand "Meatry" (Something like that) and was selling at Carrefour & some other places.
The bill with 2 drinks come to about RM70++. We are satisfied with the food but hubby felt very thirsty after that

Just check it today. Pass through it at lunch hours, the boss(I think so), stand outside and promote it German pork knuckle. Saw the menu, it cost RM29.90++ Just for lunch is too pricey. That's why inside is empty during lunch hours. :D

Yes, Meaty house pork knuckle is the signature dish. Had it this evening and the missus had the honeyed pork chops, side dishes of fries and garlic bread together with 2 juices. Cost RM60+

Very quiet tonight, with just the 2 of us in the whole place! Of course the boss was there! Seems they have their own farm somewhere in Malacca.

Yes, the pork knuckle was good, well at least better than the one I last had in a restaurant in Germany. The meat is tender on the inside unlike the one I had before that was a bit dry and not crispy on the outside...and that was supposed to be the real German knuckle!

But after this meal, I'm very stuffed. Had to have some wine to wash it down when I got home.

BTW, those who have pet dogs...mmmm...the bones...the boss gave us a couple more to ta pau!

Yeah...next time, for 3 persons, just order the pork knuckle and the sausages will do...you get 5 pcs of different sausages..., then share among the 3 of you.

Would be a bit like Mr Ho's in midvalley. I think a whole knuckle for lunch is a bit too much. The skin has to be crispy, otherwise it is not nice. I have not taken it in germany. Dunno how it is done over there.

I am flattered. But then I am no coffee drinker! So...you would be the better judge!!
Anyway, the other place you can get good coffee is at Peppercorn. Freshly brewed coffee. No, not the Vientnamese type.
