what a shame, no one replied here!

does it mean there is no yummy yummy outlet in usj or sj???

personally, i like the Indian stall in SS19's Pan Mee coffee shop. The chicken varuval is heavenly!!! That's dried spicy chicken! And chow it with a glass of iced coconut juice from the shop, and it's heavenly!!!!!!! :D

Few worth mentioning:-

1. Fruit rojak (Penang style) - located at Nanking coffeshop in Taipan USJ. Rojak sauce is thick, taste just fine with option of spicy or non-spicy. To give it an added taste, it comes with crackers, crunchy dried cuttle fish plus peanuts & sesame on top. Fruits are freshly prepared. Btw, the stall is clean & tidy too!

2. Satay (chicken/beef) - Pizza vs. Satay. Shop has recently moved to USJ9 business centre. The satay meat is fresh, juicy & tender. But a gentle reminder, if you do happen to drop by the shop at night (after 9 pm), the peanut sauce can be a slightly diluted/watery...

3. Vietnam Food - Vietnam Kitchen located at USJ9 business centre. My personal preference is the cabbage roll esp. with the sweet-black-dip sauce...each roll comes with sliced cabbage, carrots and small chunks of prawns...recommended to be served as appetizer too.

4. Penang Nasi Kandar, Taipan USJ - My loyal selections will be the honey chicken & teh-o-ais limau...trust me, the teh-o-ais-limau is the best I've tasted so far. The trick is, there must be a harmonious blend between the tea taste & the lime/limau...just give it a try!

5. Indonesian cuisine - Bawang Merah located SS16 SJ (same row with Windmill restaurant). Normally go there for lunch on Sats...must try is the sotong masak kicap, ayam masak merah & nasi lemal...even the beef rendang is excellent too. Dishes are normally served (self-service) after 12 noon. In fact, you can also try their desserts (sweet porridge & kuih-muih), normally available after 2 pm. Oh btw, for a air-cond restaurant, I'd say the prices are very reasonable. Normally, I paid ard RM6 for rice with 3 dishes plus a drink!

6. Logenhaus - located at Taipan USJ. Must try is the cheesy-onion soup...it's yummy esp. served hot. Believe me, if you love cheese, you'll be truly satisfied with the cheese serving and best part is, you're only paying RM5.90 for a bowl of soup!

Hmm...I think selections above should keep you busy, at least for this weekend...:-)

Happy eating!

hey! i'm quite surpised nobody mentioned the red van that sells nasi lemak and burgers in front of 7-eleven in usj 10 taipan. well, i call it the red van lah ... can't for the life of me remember the name. it operates evening onwards. you have to bunkus though.

the nasi lemak rocks! piping fresh rice, superb sambal. quite budget too. can have ayam goreng with it (which is my usual order); sotong sambal ... and oh, if you like nasi lemak ... do ask them to tambah nasi ;)

you shouldn't miss it. there's usually a queue there during dinner time. suggest you go before 7.30pm.

Heard the nasi lemak is delicious from another friend too.

Gotta check it out!!!

Another commendable nasi lemak is in Parkmay, SS19. It's cooked by Nyonyas from Melaka and the price.......wow, very reasonable. For a plate of nasi lemak with Sambal sotong campur some Sambal Petai and Acar....it only cost me RM3.50!!!! That's very cheap for USJ/SJ standard!!!

Mmmmm....speak of my favourite curry laksa....gotta share with all of you.
It's at the hawker stall behind the booth selling Santan in SS15's market. But it's non-halal.

The auntie that sells the Curry Laksa is very generous with the fish cakes, chicken shreds, tau pok and char siew! I usually request for meat balls to replace the cockles. And you must try the sambal that goes with the curry laksa.

My friend claimed that the curry is a bit too spicy for her. However, if you are one who loves spicy food, you would love this heavenly laksa!! :p

Yup. the selling point here is the curry chicken and fried chicken! They open only during tea-time hours.... before (morning before 11am i think) and after (2.30pm) the 'chap fan' stall operates.

As far as I can remember, the stall was originally managed by this Chinese couple (with 2 grown-up boys during school holidays). The wifey is the cook & the hubby/sons normally served the customers.

Not sure if they have franchise or sold the stall to another person coz I see different faces running the stall now. The dishes are still the same but I noticed the taste for the meehoon goreng is not as tasty as previously. Had it couple of weeks ago & meehoon was tasteless...

Yeap, agree the sambal petai is good, so as the sambal prawn.

I'm sure some of you guys out there had also been to Satay Kajang at USJ Taipan. Had it for the 1st time last nite. My opinion is, satay just tasted normal, nothing to shout about. Btw, the catch is, you're supposed to order the nasi impit, cucumber & onions separately!ll Still prefer Satay vs. Pizza though...

What surprised me most was the prices of drinks...I had to pay RM2.50 for a standard cup of teh-o-ais! I also ordered a plate of nasi-goreng Pattaya and gosh, that's the worst I've ever tasted!

You do get the rice which was wrapped with the egg but mind you, the rice was completely plain & tasteless...I was trying to search for a pathetic chunk of chic meat but no where to be seen...

They charged RM5.50 for the rice which I was unwilling to pay...made a complaint to the owner. Asked him what can I expect in the rice and he mentioned chic meat, mixed vege etc. I said, perhaps he should change the name to Nasi Kosong Pattaya coz those he mentioned are really invisible!!!

Thanks for info on the new location of Pizza vs. Satay! It's one of my favourite!!! Esp the nasi lemak and satay!!

As for Logenhaus, I like this place for its cosy ambiance, friendly staff and also reasonable set meals!! Wow, very value for money menu lah!!

regarding to the USJ2 nasi lemak..u are referring to Sri Anggerik right?

they charge so expensive for the fried chicken..leave aside the price..the chicken is so small

nasi lemak biasa - Rm2
nasi lemak with telur - Rm2.50
nasi lemak with Ayam goreng - Rm5

and the roti they made is one of the worse..

this is my first post! damn this is good..u guys haf discussions on cari makan places in USJ/SJ! How fortunate!

Okay these are the cheap ones that i think is a must for every SJ villain ;

Burger jalanan @ SS15 - in front of the under-construction market, white lorry
Andaman Cafe @ Taipan - Of course, the famous goreng pisang and u shud try their keropok lekor too..Better come fast coz they always run out of it!

And middle price excellent Italian food ;
Allegro Cafe @ SS15 ( beside Buy, Sell & Trade, used to be Lotus, and beside Salmon Steak too ) <<--no regrets! I went with my gf, i had pollo papparazzi = chicken breast with wild mushroom and herbs, and she had Fettucini. Altogether it was RM50. BESTT!!

Living in the heart on USJ, I just luv to hate driving to SS15 for a burger.
Another burger stall I'd frequent is the one stall parked at USJ8 7-11 outlet. Does till after midnight..many customers seem to be there at midnight hours. I admit the one in SS15 is slightly cheaper.

Evenings at Jln USJ9/3..roadside front of former Tai Thong restaurant, there's a white pickup van parked, Malay operated. Their "Ham cheen paeng" (sorry if wrong schpelling!) with sambal or red bean and plain "Eu Cha kueh" is delicious!..especially at 4-6pm, hot out of the pan there & then. 1st class!..believe me!.
Also offered a wide array of other local kueh. I'd admire these Malay youths can do if not better than Chinese stalls!. Thumbs up for them!.

About the ss14's (Wong Soon Kei Restaurant) nasi lemak yes i have to say overall the nasi lemak is very good. Firstly it is the fried chicken. They are quite big (geneticly altered chickens? don't care, love it). and the way they fry it is just excellent. Plus the sambal is nice. Mind u it's not really traditional nasi lemak.

How about the rojak and cendol stall in ss14? thats good too. Well for me it's just the rojak. Cendol not that amazing.

i like the nasi lemak at Syed Alif(USJ9) and also the tandoori chicken at Khalifah which i'm not sure where it is...USJ21?23? something like that.

Ahhh Asia Cafe... don't find much good food there only a handful. What i love there is :
> Pizza Bravo
> the japanese food in the left side of the main area.
> and the korean food..pretty expensive though.
