What  ???? Another Condominium Development in USJ 1? The traffic jam between USJ 1 (near Giant) and USJ 2 (infront of Summit Hotel) starts as early as 6.45am (Mon - Fri)...... and it take more that half an hour to exit to Subang Jaya which another traffic jam starts at Sunway Mentari if you are heading towards Federal Highway.

The journey from USJ 1 to Federal Highway take approx 1 hour in the morning from Monday till Friday between 7am - 8am.

I think whoever have the intention to purchase the condo from this project better to think carefully before committing.

yerp true...they should come up with an alternative to solve the jam.
Sometime it could take half an hour for me to reach to a&w.

yerp true...they should come up with an alternative to solve the jam.
Sometime it could take half an hour for me to reach to a&w.

Those road and town planners made a couple of mistakes. Offhand, I can think of 2 things that can be done to reduce the traffic jam there....

1) Make another exit and entry to/from Kesas from the other overhead road, not the one at Summit.

2) The traffic light's timing at the Summit/Kesas is wrong. Difficult to put it in words but if you stand there and observe, you'll know what I mean, to improve traffic flow.

Of course, what's done is done but it's slowly being rectified i.e. the construction of the flyover i.e. NPE. In the 1st place, instead of making the flyover from SS15 to Sunway, it should be from Summit straight to Sunway as this is where the majority of the traffic goes. I wonder if anybody does any survey before this was built. Even if they did, the surveyors are probably napping away. Have you seen them doing it? I know I have, a couple of times along the Federal Highway.

Not only USJ 1 and 2 are suffering now. With the construction near former KFC site that 3-lanes was forced to become 2 lanes now. It was jam jam jam all the way back to Appolo Restaurant at USJ 4. That was true at least yesterday morning. It took me 45 minutes to reach FH from USJ 12.

I am not sure how was the situation this morning as I escaped with Elite. :o

As you go towards FH from SS19. There are construction works currently in progress along the road towards FH. As you approach overhead bridge, the road was narrow to 2 lanes near the left-turn towards "F1 loop".

I send my kids to Sungai Way Chinese School from USJ13, start off at 6.20am and normaly take 15 minute to reach Sg Way using KFC exit. On the way back at 6.45am, the jam started at the USJ 4 traffic light toward the FH direction. If you can start out at 6.20am or earlier, so there is no jam!

yea, truely jam starting from USJ 4/4, which is the New Appolo Restaurant. Jam from USJ 4 - Summit - 3K Sport centre all the way to Sunway. luckily my car is autogear, pity those who drive manual-gear car, have to control the clutch. USJ/SJ is really famous for the terrible jam....comparable to Cheras :D

It is the bottleneck at the end of the construction (along Jalan Tujuan) towards FH that causing this massive jam. We must do something by complaining to ???(who?)

kfc gone long ago. There used to be 2 entries into SJ from Federal Highway, called SJMC entrance & kfc entrance. Now there are still 2 entries but kfc no more. Old-timers still refer to the 2nd entry as kfc. :D

In my other posting elsewhere, the GM of NPE informed me that a new flyover will be built to allow traffic from Summit to turn right at the Metropolitan roundabout as requested by you. At the moment you can see for yourself that this is being done. This is based on their traffic count. It was found out that some 40,000 vehicles come from the direction of Summit heading towards the roundabout and of this amount some 28,000 turned right towards Sunway. You are right to conclude that. But watch out for another Malaysia Boleh flyover that is going to fly over this flyover. At this roundabout, there will be 4 tier of traffic flow. This yet to be constructed flyover will bring traffic coming via the new Kelana Jaya - Subang Link from Subang to dump them at the 3K complex. I think some of the less powered vehicles will suffer a heart attack trying to climb this flyover. I believe it will be even taller than the one at Mutiara Damasara where the Sprint Highway ends.

I got a sms asking me how come the traffic count is exactly 28,000 turning right to Sunway. To tell you the truth, if it means anything to you, there were exactly 28,125.5 cars turning right to Sunway. Why you may ask about that 1/2 car. Well, on that particular day, there was this lady in a Kancil signalling to turn right to Sunway but at the very last minute changed her mind and decided to turn into Jalan Kewajipan heading towards the Subang Jaya Medical Centre!! The traffic survey does not question why the lady did that but maybe if a man did that, they would like to know why.

Another condo? Any idea what the occupancy is going to be like? USJ 1 is so close to a neighbourhood township, that it can be considered a very high density area. One more condo - how many blocks, floors, units per floors? But, only two or three access roads to this area, yet, all feeds into SJ/USJ arterial roads like Kewajipan - which increases the volume of traffic out of SJ/USJ. Wonder why this part of USJ has no additional access roads being constructed till now.

This condo  , plus more (see here (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?p=49936#post49936)) are indeed recipe for disaster if no new roads are now constructed to divert traffic away from the already congested SJ/USJ arterial roads. Do not depend on the extension of NPE to help disperse traffic. I am not of the opinion that NPE will help very much. It only brings on additional traffic to this part of the world. If this is gong to be of concern to you, then you will need to get the relevant JKP to swing into action to get SJ/USJ out of this delimma before disaster become unredeemable!

There is a plan to construct a link from Chee Wen School in USJ 1 to Tesco in Puchong. This link road will link the upmarket housing project by YTL and another 10 housing developers to USJ 1 and thereon to Kesas, NPE and the Kelana-Subang or known as Link Kedua to the old Subang Airport. God bless those staying in those houses next to Jalan Kewajipan. Where were you when we held a demonstration against this Tesco Link for it will aggravate the traffic congestion here at USJ 1??

Err PC Yeoh , :)
Sorry to hear that more access roads will mean aggravation to existing areas. Did you wonder why this would be the case? Area is already very high density, it is important to have more access roads to disperse traffic. Either way, it has to have more access roads, right? Agree?

Have not seen the plan yet. Is it still on the drawing board? If it is already ready to be implemented, why do you ppl protest? Either way, there got to be a way out of the delimma. Agree? :D

I agree with ivanhow. More housing projects without more "exit" roads bring aggravation to existing areas. Dun put too high expectation on the coming link from Chee Wen school in USJ1 to Tesco Puchong (project by YTL).
Make a survey to the YTL Project in Puchong and u will get what I meant. I dun think that road lead to Tesco Puchong able to cater the traffic flow cos the YTL housing project is quite hugh.
Moreover, the flyover under construction from SS14 to Sunway would not help the traffic between USJ1 to SS14, Subang Jaya. It's cause by the traffic light timing between USJ2 & SS14 (in front of Summit).
In related to the NPE (silly project), i would comment that the toll fee is too expensive...and I noticed that not much ppl take that route to KL unless ppl are late 4 work or in a rush.....
As for some ppl commented that we should leave earlier......dun you think leaving b4 6.40am is not early enough....ah????

I don't think the link road from Tesco Puchong to USJ 1 will materialize. For one thing the LDP & KESAS will go crying to their godfather/s that their toll collection will be affected.

Err.. cskok8 :), To some extent agree. These two concessionairs will surely disagree to the Tesco/USJ1 link to protect their profit line. Having said that, the pressure will come from the Municipal councils, in this case MPSJ, to the right thinking councellors and residents of affected areas.

Imagine, if you were to be staying in the affected area, say a stone's throw from Chee Wen School, and you had to travel everyday to Puchong either for work or business. What does that link mean to you?

On the other hand, you might not be in that category, but staying at another locality. What would that link mean to you?

Let's look at the Puchong Tesco/USJ1 link from an objective standpoint.

Believe that a need is there, just a matter of how it will be implemented, and exactly what the form it will take can be discussed. Another is timing. Here, in Malaysia, we always wait till something happens before some action will be taken... Will have to wait and see! ;)

I wonder why we have forgotten about the in and out slip road from kesas to usj1. it was done half way already but was stopped because of some reasons.
It would be the most effective way to solve the problem in USJ 1.

Moreover, the access will allow an alternative for all USJ to enter or exit to kesas other than via the summit interchange because the road leading to this stopped slip road like the jalan subang 1,2,3,4,5(leading to chee wen school) are underutilised at the moment.

Thus ,I hope we can terget all attention to pressure the relevant authorities like MPSJ/Adun to finish this slip road because this slip road will be the cheapest (< 6 million) and easiest way(half built already!) .Lack of fund would certainly not a valid reason because 6 million is relatively small compared to the cukai tanah and pintu they collect from us!

With the upcoming developments in USJ 1[ Mydin,One Subang,USJ one avenue,USJ 1 Industrial Park(400+ factories, etc)], Summit / Giant interchange will be be a jam disaster. This slip road is our only hope!

:) :) How nice if we can get easy traffic flow like this whole week (school holidays)......everyday... :)

So it means that the traffic jam every morning partially is caused by school going children. If we noticed in the daily jam, mainly one car will only has one child and a parent. :(

Any suggestions to reduce this? :D

Hi jonaChong,

Just want to check if MPSJ actually reacted to your aduan.

I sent in a couple of aduans online or via its Hotline, sadly ....MPSJ only send me letters to state they will look into the matters that I complaint (probably want to fulfill its ISO 9000 requirements). But I don't see those matters resolved!

Sigh!!!! Now I wonder where should we complain about the traffic lights timing - especially the one from USJ 3 heading towards USJ 1 (in front of USJ2's Shell Petrol Station). The traffic lights change too fast and thus caused a long queue in front of the Shell Petrol Station. This is very obvious on weekends, when shoppers to Giant increase!! I wonder if anyone in MPSJ notice this....or they are just waiting for someone to complain before acting!!! I hope there'd be one day when I could proudly shout aloud "MPSJ BOLEH"!!

How abt monorail? along the arterial road in SJ/USJ - This not only solves the problem for bus commuters, but also school-going kids.

1) locate schools in a centralized area, something like 'taipan or jln bkt bintang for schools'
2) students stay at home and all classes are virtual.. no need to build schools, anyone can pick their favorite subject teachers from anywhere in the country, lno need to send kids to school, no need for school buses..

We're talking about the junction with the large LCD TV right?

I noticed that people turning right from the Giant direction are always in the yellow box. Policemen come, "control" traffic for a while, then happily scoot off when they've created a HUGE jam.

Suggestion:
(i) close off the right turn (toward Kesas junction) from Giant direction until discipline can be maintained and people know what the YELLOW box is for.

(ii) why have policemen who make the conditions worse???

Err... JuniePhoon, Welcome to the forum at usj.com :)
Hope you will pop-in here regularly and register your observations about the traffic situation here in SJ/USJ. As you have already noticed, we have a survey on here (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?p=55383#post55383) to find out the pattern of traffic. If you have not noticed it, you may participate in this polls and register your presense that may make an impact here.

ADUN is not very helpful when it comes to all this jams . U don't see him travelling like the normal people in the morning . He will have other ways to reach his destination . People have been suffering for years and all the authorities are pretending to be blind . USJ1 area is also now neglected . No money is the normal excuse when some of the usj areas are well maintained . U can see some hses also deserted at the usj1/19/20 areas . This is a happy area for all the drug addicts . Have seen some police cars going but still the addicts are there . Heard that a few times some of the people went to see the ADUN but his office was closed . In fact 2 weeks back i also went there to check on a tuesday at 8.30pm .Waited till 9pm no sign of anyone . It looks like we have to live with all this . A few people are selling their houses at USJ1 area as they say Traffic and lack of infrastructure makes them sick . Also i heard too many mosquitos in that area . If i want to write there is a long list . What the ADUN always boasts is Chinese school and the name subang permai changed to USJ1 .

hi, chivas, nowadays there is nothing so-called efficiency and effectiveness in the 'service' industry anymore. It has never been there too! Tak boleh harap lah!! Our complaints are everywhere... muddy water supply... traffic jam... botak trees (this job was done efficiently due to $$$)... illegal motor racing during midnight... turning police reverse land into futsal court... and my bugger neighbour is making noise every minute and now dragging their furniture on top!!!
