Anyone like Ramly Burger? or do u prefer McD or Burger King or FlaminJ

I like the one 2 beef patty or 2 chicken patty with soya sauce only.

Too bad the burger cant carry 3 :P

Some times wrapped with egg.

Favourite place - 7-11 before wawasan school and outside Court 10

I used to love them back in the student days. They were cheap and tastes good. But, nowadays a McD burger (chicken / double cheeseburger) costs only RM2.50 and a similar Ramli burger costs over RM4... ?

Not worth it for me... :(

The bestest Ramly burger is located is USJ 3. This guy operates a stall next to New Appollos cofee-shop. He really makes the best burger in town. He opens only from 8 or 8.30pm onwards.

It sounds silly but there's a lot of TLC in each burger he makes. He also adds extra garnishing and seasoning to make it extra yummy. I've recommended the place to some friends and they love it.

Try it and tell me if I'm wrong!

Ramly burgers are a hit in Singapore. Some time ago S'pore kids used to bug their parents to look for Ramly burger stalls whenever they were in KL. Now Ramly burgers are all over the pasarmalams in S'pore and the stall at the Tanjung Pagar Station is also very popular./ Next time my frens visit I'll try the USJ3 stall.

Hmm, I guess Ramli burgers sold in shops are more expensive than those in road-side stalls? Coz last weekend I passed by a Ramli burger menu in a back-row shop at TTDI and most burgers were RM3-RM5. I'll go check it out again later.

Nobody makes burger like Din, he even got his own brand DinBurger but I think he use Ramli pattie also. Din has the largest variety, a burger stall can come up with, if i remember correctly he serves

burger daging
burger ayam
burger daging special
burger ayam special
burger daging cheese
burger ayam cheese
burger daging cheese special
burger ayam cheese special
burger daging cheese double
burger ayam cheese double
burger udang
banjo
hot dog
hot dog special
i think he lets us mix and match but these are some of the variety he's selling.

Eh, no ah, both are available. Its just that the beef one starts selling first and the chicken one come later. I also prefer beef, this year's offering is not bad, that orange spritz is kinda refreshing, better than coke.

I think its because its still the cheapest and most convenient meal students can buy for less than RM4, obvious to the fact that most students are cash strapped.
Established fast food joints is actually expensive and gomen tax adds to the injury..even then, there's already speculation of service tax...certainly not amusing when it becomes a reality.

i've always preferred burger king to McD's (except for when their prosperity burger and curly fries are on the seasonal menu).

but there are times when i do crave for a "burger special with cheese, tak mahu bawang and tak mahu chili sauce". my fav ramly burger stall is the one opposite the 7eleven near the shell/petronas stations in usj 4. normally gotta wait quite long as there's always a lot of people. but it's worth every lip smacking bite :D

When I was in my teens..it was at the same home and if I recall, it was Jackson Hot Dog..chilli con carne and all. A pioneer competitor and alternative to A & W, then the only American franchise here, way before MacD, Wendys, KFC and the lot.
I've only patronized him once..probably 10 years ago..when after a visit to a friend who's staying just a couple of blocks away.
I think I'll make it a point to check him out next time I pass by there

Good old American burger taste ya?. I like it very much too..but EXPENSIVE lah!...as if we earn in US dollars..

Nevertheless its a fact that majority Malaysians like it very much and looks like Ramly ain't going to change the recipe, moreover Burger stalls selling the same brand are increasing in number. Within 2km of USJ9 where I stay, I can count at least 5 stalls. Burger stall easy and cheap to operate mah.. and its still some form of employment for youths who flunked SPM or can't get suitable jobs..

Lets compare between a few USJ/Subang stalls primarily using Ramly burger.
The 2 main ingredients, plainly the bun and burger patty should taste the same whether its fried by stall A, B, or whoever. There's no actual set trend of doing up a burger, except the basics.
Some of these flers are creative adding extra seasoning (Maggi seasoning), some bottled BBQ sauce and a sprinkle of pepper to give it some more oomph. Then each stall have their own preference of mayo, tomato and chilly sauce. The tomato and chilly sauce can actually make a burger taste for better or worse.
What I do is I tell them not to put in ANY tomato or chilly sauce...and more often, a very thin spread of mayo, sometimes none at all, depending on my mood.
The moment I get home, out comes my favourite bottle of Del Monte tomato sauce and I luv this combination. Sorry, I didn't miss out on chilly sauce but don't like having it on my burger or hotdog, OR KFC..

Actually I still prefer Burger King anytime..good old fashioned American burger, only complaint is its obcsenely expensive. I'm already fed up of Ramly burger taste.. monotonous for the last 2 decades.

Nevertheless, I could agree commercially sold burgers in this country are factually junk food. There's no clear indication of quality of meat or what sort of poisons it could contain. One pays 1 buck, one likely gets 30sen quality, that's typically Malaysian business and highly suspicious. Products will still sell well. If local vegetable farmers can quietly poison us all..anything's possible here!

Buy prime meat, find some good recipe on the internet..bikin sendiri..its prime quality alright!.

yah!, simply because local people tend to be sweet tooth taste now and sweeter means tastier for many, till they find out they can't swallow foods like this because of health complications. Sudah kena, too late!
Vendors don't care, they only sell due to unchallenged demand.
Ok, ok, enough of health talk but its one of those things why its like that.
Just have to "make and COOK YOUR OWN" if you may prefer taste to your personal preference. Not that you can't find recipes in the virtual world.
There's one particular local brand "...choice" forgot the name, seemingly OEM vendor to McD's patties and can be found in well stocked supermart. tried it once, very fatty and oily lah...first and last time ate that.

The scret is in the SAUCE .... somehow, I cannot get the same stuff as Ramly's joint ...

I think it's some modified black pepper sauce or BBQ sauce, even HP sauce (u can find bottles of various makes at supermart), modify sendiri at kitchen lah.....that sort of thing I do sometimes.. the bottle black pepper sauce is used as a base sauce. Blend with fried chopped shallots, add more brown sugar, add honey, add anything you feel like it..mushrooms, peas, whatever..experiment lah!, maybe it'll all turn out to be some killer sauce!
Do you know that Campbells mushroom soup can be used as a sauce base to DIY some rich creamy white sauce?.. its just ideas which you can expand and experiment in your own kitchen, no need to follow TV master chef techniques or something very commercial. All from your own ingenuity.
If I feel like it I make cook my own version of curry mee too, but perhaps not to often nowadays simply to avoid an apparent dangers of consuming too much yellow mee and oily curries.
I prefer making the Malacca Nyonya Laksa, which actually is another variation and spicy curry mee.

You are RIGHT, how come I am so stupid ???? :o :o :o :o

(Don't answer - it is rhetorical ok !! :p :p )

Aiyo!..if you eat it, surely your tastebuds may tell you roughly what izzit mah!
BTW, I even sort of formulated (after some research) and successfully copied the famous A & W coney hot dog. Its SO EXPENSIVE to eat that there, so for a little more money, DIY cook, I can feed so many at home.
Sorry and respect to fellows who don't consume beef, somehow coney dog sauce is excellent when with mince beef, or a combination with another meat which I don't consume.
BTW, I think roadside hot dogs are crap! DIY sendiri at home much better.

Theres this one I found at USJ1, past mydin, the shops on your right.
He uses the 70g ramly burger, and has kambing/deer, arnab and ostrich.
After 7.30pm only.

Undecided if his is really great or just good so far.

Anyone tried before?
