My recommendation ...

1) Jakes Steakhouse on the way to KL from Damansara using Jalan Damansara. Sprint Highway.

2) TGI Friday - Try their JAck Daniels Steak , yum ! yum!

3) Chillis

I wonder if others like Planet Holywood, Hard Rock Cafe , Victoria Station and San Francisco Steakhouse are as good as the one I reommended.

chsum, where is Castell? Is it in one of those 1st floor shophouses near the Jalan University roundabout, Section 16 PJ? I remember eating there a couple of times some 15 years ago where they served their all-time favourite - grilled kurau steaks. The place was really packed with lunch time crowd during those time. I've totally forgotten about this joint after moving to Subang Jaya. For now, my favourite steak houses are:-
On Pay-day:-
(1) Outback - Bukit Bintang
(2) Jake Charbroil - Damansara
(3) Victoria Station - Damansara

"Pok-Kai" days:-
(1) Corner lot coffeeshop - SS3 next to Shell
(2) Salmon Steak - SS15
(3) Pizza Uno - Taipan

LogenhausTaipan , where is it? any landmarks around?

Ship? I thought the food there is secondary to Jakes Charbroiled and other joint like TGI and Chillies? I could be wrong.

I heard of Castell before and their food was marvellous according to a review i read in Klue Magazine.

Kennykang, your are absolutely right to pin point where Castell is. I have eaten steak in all the places mentioned above and Castell is still my all time favourite. During my pok kai days, I will settle for the one cooked by my wife...... er isn't it strange. In another arena, the men used to say that "once a while they would like to have 'steak' outside if they get stale over the 'homecook' food???"

Err...HackWire :) ...LogenhausTaipan is across the road facing StarBuck...sharing the same row of shoplots with Maybank(formerly PacificBank)...enjoy your steak there.. :)

BTW...PCYeoh :) ...no wonder Castell sounds familiar...err...should be the one next to the Motorcycle Sales Centre on the same short row of shops next to Jln University roundabout...ahem...ate there once...so so only!...err...say 7.5 on the scale of 10...difficult to get carpark space... :p

Oh...before Orchi forgets to mention...there is nothing that can beat home cook 'meals'...even talking about occasional bubur with ikan masin...hmmm... ;)

Yup, thats the one, it seems that they have change management, new decor, more upmarket. They cut down the variety and concentrate on what they do best, grill steak. My the other half always complain they do not have variety other than steak. Well it shows that they must be good at it.
Kenny, Kurau steak? what is it, never heard of it?

Hello

Has anyone tried the old fashioned style steaks at the Coliseum Cafe along Jalan TAR? This cafe used to be famous for its Western Food and its cutlery.
I wonder if the Hainanese staff are still managing this outlet.used to go for my lunch once a while when working around there before.

went to logenhaus taipan today for their set lunch, the soup is really tasteless. try their roast chicken , the meat is tender and its fully recommended. avoid the mushroom spaghetti, too salty.

u can smell the 60' or 70's wood smell. i guess there were plenty of termites there. watch out.kekeke.
