Many still await MSN, Yahoo e-mail upgrades here (http://news.com.com/Many+still+await+MSN%2C+Yahoo+e-mail+upgrades/2100-1038_3-5458990.html?tag=st.ref.goo)

.....The Microsoft representative added that all of Hotmail's existing users in major markets, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain and Italy, will have 250MB of storage by Thursday "or shortly thereafter."
My hotmail still remains at 2MB and it's full of junk mail. I can't wait for 250MB of junk and spam !!
Have migrated to gmail and yahoo.

Why bother about using Hotmail nowadays? I have this Yahoo! mail since I started using the internet and lately have another account with Gmail. Both this web-based emails with POP functions would be sufficient for most users whether for personal or business. Hotmail is far behind Yahoo! mail.
One thing you all should understand is that email is electronic mail. So you should only keep your email, not data or anything else. Even if hotmail still remain its 2mb..should be no prob at all..If you all want bigger space than you should go and find e-space..Just imagine, you just bought your post box, do you still put your previous letter into it..absolutely not...coz it will take space. Same goes to email..You put yr old letter in somewhere else, maybe in cupboard, or maybe inside yr drawer this b'coz you dont want to make yr postbox full..same goes to yr email..so, y not u put yr data or what so ever in e space..isn't it better...The point here is, even email provider keep on upgrading the space of yr email, ppl will never satisfy..that's human n we cant escape from that. ;)

Ok, found a link here (http://bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=580&st=0&#entry9425) that I have tried and it works. It immediately upgrades your 2MB account to 25MB, with the intention of bringing it to 250MB within a month (this 25MB -> 250MB upgrade, I have not experienced)
Just follow the instructions as such:
1. Sign in to your hotmail account and change your personal profile in the Options as following:
Country: United States
State: Florida (choose another state if you want -
http://www.50states.com/)
Zip Code: 33332 (choose another zip code if you want. -
http://www.downloadzipcode.com/)
Needless to say, you need to enter the zip code that belongs to the state you've chosen.
2. Then get to the Language options and make it English if it's not.
3. If you don't want to lose your Inbox, click Put in folder. From the menu, choose New Folder. Create your new folder and go back to your Inbox. Select the emails that you do not lose and click Put in folder once more. Choose the folder you have just created and the emails you have chosen will be moved to that folder. You can move them to your Inbox again later by the same method.
4. Before signing out, paste the link below into the address bar and click "Close my account". Thus your account will be deactivated.
http://by17fd.bay17.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/Accountclose
5. Now visit the address http://www.hotmail.com again. Enter your username and password. The activation page will load. Activate your mail account.
6. You're done ! Now your mail account capacity has grown to 25 MB and in a month or so it will be 250 MB. Enjoy your "enlarged" hotmail account!

Great! Mine worked too!!!! I had problem with closing my account using the link given. So I tried typing in several links based on yours and eventually got it done using : http://by17fd.bay17.hotmail.msn.com.cgi-bin/Accountclose
Thanks for this tips!
I always have a full mailbox due to the 2Mb limitation!!!!
