I have heard people giving rave reviews about Klang's food.
So, I am keen to check out the ever famous food that Klang is well-known for. Would anyone be kind enough to introduce them here and where in Klang can we find them?

Hi Franky, I myself originated from Port Klang....best food in Klang....hahaha.... :D

1) Bah Kut Teh (Sukhi may be right to say u can get it at USJ but nothing beats the originality of Klang Bah Kut Teh. Location: Teluk Pulai, Sungai Rasah, and one more near Plaza Chiliung opp the Kamdar store.) I have tried elsewhere for ex. USJ, Puchong, Malacca, Damansara ...none taste like the original although their store might indicate it came from Klang.

2) Seafood...still Port klang (Bagan/Port Village at North Port), Klang Seafood at Pandamaran....All fresh from sea....might want to try at Teluk Gong....plenty of new seafood restaurant mushrooming all over....but beware of the jam....can take u ages to reach there.....bet it is good .....highly recommend!!!

3) Lou Shu Fan (Hokkien translation "mouse noodle") at Gama store (ground floor u will find plenty of gerai makan).....donno which one..... opp The Store shopping centre.

All this non-halal of course if u want halal then u have to ask our muslim frens. If all these not to your liking....pls revert so that I noe what kind of food interest u :D !!!

I once went to a coffee shop (near to a huge Japanese Buddhist temple in Klang - don't know it's name) for curry fishhead. Done in a very unique way, where it's the fish is fried with curry powder and lotsa leeks are added to it! Not the usual wet curry fish head we get.

The uncle only sells it from 8.30pm onwards. You can see a lot of customers arriving when his stalls start operations.

Probably you may know where in Klang is this place, gnehknep? :p
That would be lovely!!! Thanks in advance.

Roly, for one thing I do not noe where the heck is this Japanese Buddhist temple that u mentioned......can be more precise ah....any landmark or public amenity near there???

No joke lah......Klang is very big ....the place u mentioned could be located at Pandamaran OR Southern Park OR Klang Town OR Kapar OR Meru OR Kg. Jawa OR Kemuning OR ......etc......

BTW, u can address me as Ah Piah......all my frens call me by this......gnehkgnep would be one @#$% word to pronounce else one day we have a chance for meeting.....u would probably not sure what to call me or oredy forgotten my name.....hihi :D

My apology if there is not much to elaborate on your description above ...else any other Klang kia who have better idea on this.......thanks a lot too....as I myself would like to noe ;) :p

Hi Ah Piah,

The temple is the Nichiren devotees centre.

The taman's name is in English.....no Taman Andalas, or Taman Sentosa....but a very English name. Sorry, lah, as I have only been there once, I can't remember the place well. Not certain if it's Pandamaran or Port Klang........

Ah ha.....is it the white building "Nichiren Shoshu Selangor"......???

But this building is facing the highway....."Persiaran Raja Muda Musa".....any food stall / restaurant somewhere near there....???? I really donno.......the nearest building to that is a newly completed shoplots......i am not sure whether ur restaurant is located there.........if yes, then that place is called Klang hahahaha :D .......ok lah.......if u ask anyone living in Klang....just tell them that somewhere between Port Klang Kompleks Sukan.....n Taman Gembira / Taman Chi Liung...........along the Persiaran Raja Muda Musa.........u will certainly get there......

If u still not sure......give me ur fax no......n I will fax to u the map...

Prices are compatible with the Klang outlet - not cheap!
Around RM20 per head.

Not too long ago, I was introduced to a very good Rest in Klang called New Harvest. It's at 19 Jln Goh Hock huat, Klang. Tel 33452288. Very good and prices reasonable. Dont forget to try their Yan Kee pineapples. One of the best. As good as the Hawaiian pineapples!
