I'm just curious about the tastebuds of us Malaysians. What kinds of food really turns people on?? Mind you that the choices are quite limited here so the options are like :
Nonya : Asam Pedas, Asam Prawns, Joo Hoo Char....etc
Indian : Masala, Naan, Banana Leaf Rice... etc
Malay : Ulam, Masak Merah...etc
Western : Hot Dogs, Steaks, Burgers...etc
Chinese : Stir fried dishes, soups...(I'm a nonya so I am quite confused with Chinese food...sorry. If you guys can furnish me with some examples)
Others : Haggis, Fer...etc
Open floor for comments...Thanks
Every now and then, we would go out for dinner on:-
Chilli mussels cooked in tomato sauce.
A few slides of garlic bread.
Caesar's salad.
A bottle of white wine---Goundrey Unwooded Chardonay.
Cost about A$47.00-----no tip required.
It's beautiful!
Hi
Nothing like a wholesome banana leaf meal..I will go for it anytime..and drown it with a cup of rasam and cold glass of mango lassi
SKI,
What is 'rasam' ?
TQ !
Hi
Rasam is a corriander spicy sour soup and is very healthy. Highly recommended..goes well with tamil food..many Malaysians enjoy it and are aware of it.

Do you know that US beef has been banned? If there are still places that serve US beef, it might have been frozen for about 1 year now. Most of the beef now come from Australia or even India now.
I personally like Nonya food like asam prawns, stingray in asam pedas.... and a few more... i really miss my grandma's cooking. (God rest her soul...)

The Malay chicken rice with the sotong gravy ......wah veli best.........famous in Port Klang......"Kedai Kita"..........the chicken fried hot and on the spot........
Also Chinese food and Nyonya food........so many choices.....simply crave for more!!! Not to forget my usual bah Kut Teh.......best in Klang, Selangor n Malaysia!!! Don't Play Play!!! :D
