Any of you own a Honda City 1.5L VTEC? Am planning to get one and any feed back would be a great help. I was also told that the car comes with free service for 2 years

thanks franky. i see if i can drop in tomorrow morning and have a look. but then again, talking to salesman is only hearing one side of the story. i appreciate if there any formuers who owns or knows someone who owns them. maybe they can give some insight to this car which the salesman would not want you to know. ;)

I own the iDSI one.

Are you asking for an opinion on the engine performance or on the rest of the car?

I cannot comment on the VTEC engine because mine is a different engine.

However, as for the rest, I doubt you can get as much for the same price. e.g.
1. The ultraseat is something hard to beat. With 2 strokes you get a real flat bed stretching from boot to the front seat. With that, I carried a bed home from Giant Hypermarket.

2. The ultraseat can also be pushed up out of the way so that I can have many interesting options with the extra large space at the back:
a: Transport tall items
b: Transport many more items
c: It becomes a changing room when I go picnicking
d: During an outstation trip and when my daughter gotta "poo" and I cannot stop, I simply just lift up 1 seat, put a potty on the floor and she can do her business without any worry of spills on the seat while I still continue driving.
e: I now have a underseat storage space which you cannot get in other sedan cars - good for my camera, extra blankets, shoes, etc.

3. The boot is really HUGE. Can't imagine any other cares of its class having such size.

4. 2 airbags. Even the closest competitor has only 1.

5. ABS! Fantastic!

6. I have counted 16 things that even the closest competitor cannot compete.

7. The only thing that City lose out to the nearest competitor is the power. However, my question is, why do I need that power unless you are a road monster? I am already a fast driver and I consider it adequate for my needs.

Hope that helps.

Alex

Truth be told, if power is the key buying criteria, then there are other cars that do much better. In terms of utility, reliability and second hand value, the city is the car to seriously look at, especially if one has a family.
