How to safeguard/backup your emails.
For MS Outlook - Tools - Services - Personal Folder - Properties - note the path. Use Windows Explorer to locate your pst files. Burn on a CD. Or copy and paste the file. It will create a "copy of your email pst file"
Remember to click Clean up - Compact once a while to reduce the file size.
For MS Outlook Express - Tools - Option - Maintenance - Store Folder. Note the path. Use Windows Explorer to locate your pst files. Burn on a CD. Or copy and paste the file. It will create a "copy of your email dbx file".

You can also convert your emails into text file using MS Outlook.
Select the file (files). Save As txt. Attachments have to be manually SAVE AS Attachment
