I want to drive to KLIA and park my car there for few days, any idea where is the best place to park my car in KLIA with cheap parking rate ?

I knew there is uncovered parking which is cheaper compared to covered pakring lot. besides that, any more idea ?

the long term outdoor parking lots? i don't think anyone uses those lots. one of it also used as a gathering and waiting area for the airport limos. other than these, i can't think of any other options besides the expensive multi-level garage or taking the ERL etc to KLIA.

There is a maximum charge of RM 36 for every 24 hours. So if you are just making a day trip then it is OK.

KLIA got cheaper parking meh? I also want. Save me the trouble of taking cab esp late night flights.... A friend told me, if show Air Ticket can get cheaper wor. That's what he does. Sometimes he parks there for a week. Hmmm...heard its unwritten rule. Anyone knows? They practice that alot overseas....how come KLIA never thought of that...saves us FF the trouble.....

just keep the parking chip :)

u only need to pay rm50 if u lose it, no matter how many days u have parked there! that will save u a lot of money!

KH EE

hey, if u park 4 more than a day, it'll cost you Rm72 (RM36 X 2days) which is much more expensive than RM50 fine for losing the chip... ;) :) :D :o

It is cheaper to take a limo from USJ to KLIA.

Can try parking at Menara Telekom (public covered parking at LG4) or MidValley or Kelana Jaya station or Amcorp, take a LRT to KL Sentral then take the KLIA LRT there. :D :D

Once send my friend to KLIA, we ate at McD there and end up paying about RM12 for parking.

loosing the chip and paying the fine will not work. I lost my chip and told the counter people that i parked for 3 days(lucky me)..you know they had a log book showing the list of cars(licence plate #) parked overnight for each particular day...so don't try to cheat, they have a manual system to track cars there.

For SJ/USJ folks, if more than 4 days/nights, just take a cab. Not much laternative for parking in KLIA unless you want to park at the KLIA town..where there are some shops and a Caltex...not sure if yo car will be there after a few days..car thieves are every where

:D or can make fren with MAS stewardess... they got free transport to KLIA ! Air Asia crew dun have free transport, but u can still 'try' to hitch a ride with them.... or another suggestion : just pinjam a 'parking tag' from any a friend working at the airport or airport hotel ... :) mostly them all got season parking tags

Just kidding ya... dun want ur wifes beating the daylight outta anyone here getting caught, catching a ride with a stewardess - sure aiyoh!

Seriously... catch a cab to KTM Kommuter Subang > KL Sentral >> KLIA ... vv. cheaper / safer / and only if you are not in a hurry...

Sometime in 2001, I tried the 'losing the chip' trick. It worked then. I had to travel to Kuantan and my trip got extended for another 4 days. When I came back, I went to the pay-in counter and told the clerk I lost the chip. They just fined me, I think it was like 70 or 80 bucks, and they gave me another chip to exit.

Dunno if 'it' still works, the system I mean!!:(

HI

For this kind of trips and for hoildays I would prefer just to avoid all this hassale of driving and parking and all the other risk problems...ERL is the answer so convenient... if i can afford to travel by air why not the ERL too.

Is also a breeze getting to the Central Stn.

Cheers

I have been driving to KLIA quite a number of time and till today I am still ignorant of the distance between KLIA and the toll plaza at USJ. Never get to measure it as everytime forgot to look at the speedometer at the exit or clock it at the start of the journey. Got carried away. Can someone tell me the distance? BTW, what is the taxi fare from USJ to KLIA (normal town taxi) and KLIA to USJ (coupon system)?

Actually ERL is not a bad idea to get to KLIA.

And, for your info, there's 2 types of ERL services; ERL express and ERL transit.

Take the ERL transit, get off at one of the stations in between, and continue journey with the next ERL in 30 minutes time. It will cost you about RM16.00 for the whole journey.

Another solution, drive to Putrajaya Western Transport Terminal, park your car for free, board the ERLtransit to KLIA for RM6.20. How does that sound?

Achee,

You're right. I didn't know that it's cheaper to take ERL transit and switch trains in between. I've just checked the website, and it'll work if you pick Putrajaya or Salak Tinggi as the 'switching' station. Total cost is rm15.70, more than 50% cheaper. But add 30 minutes to your travelling time.

I thot there's a ERL transit thingy @ Shah Alam also? Drive to Putrajaya? The distance is equally as far lah.

ERL not operating 24 hrs right? Aiyah, I travel mostly for work lah, so can claim taxi fare.....so I guess it doesn't really matter lor except driving is more convenient. Tho, I can't claim parking fees unless its for a day trip.:(

Oh well.....

PC,

Taxi from USJ to KLIA is around RM 45. And the return fare using the coupon is RM 62.10, with taxis waiting at gate 7. These fares includes all tolls.

Err...come to think of this here KLIA parking woes...Orchi never had to worry about it at all...50% of the times...Orchi doesn't need to park any car there.....ahem...ada chauffeur mah...then again...for the remaining 50%...company punya duit lar...tax deductable!

Taxi coupons are purchased from the counter, just at the exit from either the international or domestic arrival hall. It's called the Limo counter. There is only one authorized "taxi" service leaving KLIA, and it's the Limo guys.

IMHO, The term "Limo" is used loosely in this instance.

Hi KC,
After reading all those parking suggestions, I am wondering if you would be interested in an idea i hv for you.
You can come pick me up in your car, drive to KLIA, i then stick the "P" stickers on your windscreens, and drive it home with me. You provide me with details on your return flt and time, i wash the car for you before driving to KLIA to return the car to you. Then you can drop me back home.

How's that? No parking charges. :D Just be sure to check your insurance validity.

My friend recently parked his car at KLIA before he left for Shanghai. Wah when he came back to town last night, he had to pay about RM200+ wor. Was telling him, its so much better to park at my place...heheh-at least I get to drive a X5 for a week...hehe.

Btw, the return taxi coupon valid for how many days wor? If I go travel for say 2 weeks still can buy that ah? Coz sometimes balik from overseas no RM lah. They accept credit card?

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but what is the current deal for long term parking at KLIA? Like 1 to 3 days.

azman0123
20-06-2010, 07:53 PM
From the KLIA Website, the minimum parking period is three (3) days at RM129.00, equal to the RM43 per day.

I read in another forum that KLIA has a new parking rate for long termers but cannot find it. It is supposed to be RM43 for the 1st 3 days.

azman0123
21-06-2010, 01:48 AM
I doubt it. I would think they would update the page, if it was like that.

Anyway, it's RM43/day for the first 3 days. Then it's RM15 per day thereafter.

CS Chua

Well, I guess I better take the taxi if I am away for more than 2 days. The taxi to and fro costs me about RM180.00 (premier). Even though 3 days are still cheaper, it is not worth the slight savings when you think of the petrol used, toll, stress, and risks.

I really wish that MAS & Firefly would get together & start the free shuttle between Subang and KLIA!

Then we could all travel to KLIA for the cost of a taxi ride to Subang. It may not be totally convenient (going on the bus's schedule) but it would work for me.

Anyone know anyone in MAS / Firefly who could push this suggestion forward?

Cheers, m

Bizz are driven by profits...and all those past rm9.00 shuttle services from sparade to klcc/klia also went KAPUT for want of passengers!

Sjaya, usj, puchong, putra hts and some say even shah alam semua orang kaya prefer to drive and also park overnites lah.

MAS & Firefly to give free service? HAHAHAHAH! its like asking me to part the Andaman Sea! hahahaha! :D :D

For your info KLIA (LCCT) and USJ 9 (probable center of USJ) is 48km driving distance. (according to GPS gadget)

I read that it only costs RM20 per day at the Pan Pacific Hotel and you do not have to prove that you are a resident guest. Anyone tried that?

As far as whenever the KLIA issue crops up, its actually a cost burden issue to many Malaysians, the distance, the ONLY route with unavoidable tolled road. What to do? Nothing was avoidable. Like one former minister said. "Wanna use, PAY lah!" (a high price at that)
