tmnet streamyx wireless is a comparatively cheaper.
You dont have to pay for the modem.subsidise by TMNet i suppose.
Its on loan to the customer for the period of the usage.
one year contract i suppose which is reasonable.
Currently there is the 512K/128 package
priced at RM99 with installation and activation fee of RM125
It was previously available at USJ 5,6,9,10 and 11 areas and now
is also available at SS17,SS18 SS16 areas parts of SS19,USJ2 and areas behind Summit too.Service is still upon signal test since needs LOS(line of Sight). Not much promotion currently, you can get more info from the kedai telekom or clickers. They give priority to waiters but others who are within the area can request!
If your around there and have waited enuff its a good option.

Hello Dagunner,
I am living in one of the areas u mentioned, but when i called the PR person a week ago to freak out about lack of streamyx for me when just a few doors away down the road, tmnet people were ready to install streamyx for them. I hv been on waiting list since Dec last year and and sick of paying more then rm200 a mth for my tmnet dialup (29.2kbps). That PR person still claimed there is no service in my area and so on. Argh.. i hate having to repeat my predicament as most you the regulars are probably sick of hearing it too. I called Maxis wireless broadband and asked what the signal strength might be for me.. he said 'medium'. Argh.. that probably translates to 'disgustingly pathetic'.

Dagunner, if u can pls provide some solid evidence that there is wireless streamyx in the areas u mentioned, i would like to look at it so that i can call streamyx people and freak out again. They just sound like recorded msgs repeating the same thing over and over again.

Hi lady,
Oh dial up surely frustrating with 29.2kbps.
As i mentioned there is not much promotion.
You should drop by the kedai telekom at ss15
or contact clickers.
Kedai Telekom

Selangor

Tel : 03-7804 0410

As the installation needs rooftop space, its usually done on
residential houses or buildings with space.Provide
them with your particulars, tell them that you have been waiting for long time and request for a signal test.

Good Luck!

Err...a buddy in SS17...paid n signed up with Maxis this morning....ahem....only to discover disappointment...NO Signals....thus NO Wireless Broadband Service at that location....for the time being....:(

Err...come to think of the missing links...seems to be quite a problematic norm these days....
