At about 6:30pm on Wed 12 Feb 2004 an accident occured at one of the U-turns on the road between USJ9 and USJ11. This is the 2nd u-turn if you were to drive from Taipan towards USJ12, just after the Petronas station.

From what I could gather looking at the tyre marks on the road, the accident happened when a white Toyota Unser made a right turn into the u-turn opening. This Unser was on the middle lane. The driver probably did not see the small Perodua which was travelling on the right-most lane. What probably happend was the Unser's right-rear mudguard clipped the Perodua's left front mudguard and caused the Perodua to flip onto its side. The Unser's driver lost control, rolled over the kerb of the u-turn, deflated its front left tyre and ended up further down the road on the other side.

Fortunately no one was hurt. I think the Perodua was driven by a lady (probably early 30's) with her daughter in her pre-teens. The daughter had a slight cut above her eyebrow. Both were shaken but otherwise alright.

The Unser driver was a middle-aged man with another male passenger. They were obviously shaken and the looked like decent chaps. I chanced to ask him if he was doing a u-turn and he confirmed that he was.

I guess it was an incident of doing a careless u-turn without checking for traffic on the right.
