View Full Version : Gold Dinar - reality or dream?

With the gold dinar now being sold as a hedge against inflation (not yet usable as a currency), what do you think? Frankly I have believed in having part of my savings in gold and have done so but using gold wafers from credit suisse. So this is good? I guess it does make it affordable for Malaysians in general to afford gold hedging but is it a good thing? Looking at the growing deficit in the US budget, I think the USD is now grossly over-valued. And with the ringgit tagged to it, we can believe our ringgit is now under-valued. But what if hyper-inflation set it with the way our government is deciding to spend money? What is our security? Should we hoard gold and gold certificates? or what are the alternatives?

Good questions. Unfortunately none of which I can answer!

However, I've heard a rumour that a certain entrepreneur who just 'came out' will be championing this, with backing from parties from a certain muslim country....not sure how far that's true.
