Maybe those who are above 50 are interested..

He KO the japanese opponent within 35 seconds in 1983 World elite kick-boxing competition.. !!

He worked in the prison before, he worked in HK police before, he was a taikor before and of course many people know him from his movies. He is now a successful red wine merchant.

Here is a rare interview with him. He talked about his era, the triad world in HK from 60s to 90s especially the grey area between white and black...

For those who can understand Cantonese...

Yup!..familiar with this actor often on Shaw Brothers and later kung fu flicks..junior and just after David Chiang and Ti Lung. Seems to play the supporting baddie most of the time in those flicks.
IMO, after watching numerous re-runs of those classic movies on Celestial channel, it dawns on me that there's obvious characteristics in a lot of Shaw Brothers story line.
Seem to project these:
1) Heros or baddies almost never back down on any challenge, almost never to be cowed by the enemy/opposition or provoked for at the slightest reason.
2) Revenge is almost a must.
3) Barbaric and uncouth behavior. Lawless place in those days, anyone superior can lord over others.
4) Very nationalistic and patriotic, against the Ching Dynasty, seen as corrupt, oppressive and foreign.
5) A lot of sex laced movies in the Shaw catalog, with lewd scenes (censored here), these films never made it to the big screen here but available on DVD. And I thought SB films were all clean and not rated..haha!..so I was brainwashed! 40 years later I'm surprised.
But lastly..these films are made for entertainment as with any other movie. There will never be another Shaw Brothers like film production, that era is gone!

From what he said during the interview......

Movie was a small part of his world. He was an underworld taikor and a very successfully one even until now albeit he has retired..

His children only knew his taikor background after they were 30+ years old...

It is amazing how he can hide this for such a long time..

Its never surprising for some people with extraordinary ability to keep their innermost secrets or activities from the family or close ones.
Maybe his children knew later but don't want to talk about it...like live and let live..well aware they can't change history.
I too can keep some secrets for a lifetime..don't want family to know too much..;-)

Astro is doing a re-run of old Shaw Brothers movies, digitally remastered, on Channel 321. This guy is in some of those movies.

I'm watching in my free time, very nostalgic and not amazingly, most of the "China scenery, villages and film sets" are mostly filmed in the backlot and surrounding land behind the Clearwater bay studios. Sure can see Clearwater bay in the background. There was one film (Tropical Interlude 1969), filmed in Malaysia, showing JB, Malacca and Penang (Batu Ferringhi) How serene and clean Malaysia looked in the late 60's, unlike NOW..sigh! Then another - Black Magic 1975, mostly in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.. surprisingly at a bungalow lot near to where I was residing, Jalan 16/3 Petaling Jaya. That bungalow is still there today.
BTW, Channel 321 is transmitted in normal non HD resolution. I've seen a couple on HD...much much better view. Pity! All these films were restored and remastered digitally. Better than it was on the silver screen.
BTW, saucy Shaw films are all censored by Astro, as usual.. you all not supposed to see tits and such.

Lastly, how come some actresses are so beautiful?..they're from Taiwan....Taiwan Chinese girls are naturally very pretty..lol!
My all time favourite vixen is Hu Chin!...CLASSIC!

Yes, used to watch a lot of movies of him before.

Of course, you still can see the rerun in Dnet.
