How about the police officer insulting citizens? Is there a law against this?

Personal verbal insult are not tolerated or punishable in this land..especially to those empowered with authority if found guilty............period.
This country have all sorts of laws and regulations (over-regulated if you like to believe) to counter any misbehaviour or mischief. Believe that! Just matter of whether you get caught or not.
I think I read somewhere of a list of petty mischief that is punishable..and a lot of people aren't aware of the law.

"The maximum fine for this offence is RM100 so I am giving you that,” she said.

I don't mind paying RM100 especially when there is no jail term to unload such insult on the police in situation when I find them overstepping their power. At least it unloads such frustration in my chest. The trouble is we don't know suddenly they can turn around and charge you under another act (they are well known for their double standard) with heavier penalties just to nail you kaw kaw. They are well known for their inconsistencies when they are vindictive.

suddenly they put in two head banging pills in your pocket and charge you possession. so best is steer clear of them.

Yup!..some people think this is all petty and drastic punitive laws but its needed when there's tendencies of such behavior or mischief, better have a law like this just in case to ensure people know how to behave more civilized. Why do you think corporal punishment is enacted?

Well..like some blogger have said, democracy is a pig sometimes, and not always to your favor or full satisfaction. There will be injustice and unfair practices, happen in a lot of other democratic lands too. Yes, as always we desire more and the best, who dunwan?.. India, China, many other neighbors all got their share of similar issues.

Different measures for different times. There is no hard and fast rule nor a universal solution for all problems.
