Talking about that, during LHB time, I recalled the road was resurfaced so often that I told myself, why is MPSJ doing this so often, once in two years is good enough. Then come HY, I don't even remember when was the last time the road was resurfaced completely (not a bit here and there).

Seriously, rakyat's money should spend on making the place a better and safer place to stay, that's nothing to shout about saving that billion ringgit if what they do is merely reduced the services, the padang grass let unattended, minimum new facilities, etc.

Actually in Malaysia, this isn't a practical, workable nor permanent solution to handling public woes.
THIS IS MALAYSIA!.. even 999 is reputed with timely crank calls and all sorts. Its only that its protected to some extent as a punishable offence. Crank call to some politician or YB?..where got protection from undesirable elements? Inviting the untold! AGAIN THIS IS MALAYSIA!..cowboy land!.. Longkang problem, you call MB? Yes!..people may think its their solution! Its not that its no good, I don't believe Malaysia is ever ready for such as this. People are NOT developed in mind, attitude and civility. People only behave when it suit them. It was all lost 40 years ago.

Why don't you just call YB Hannah Yeoh directly? Why smear her against MCA MP like this without facts and figures? I can also tell you Lee Hwa Beng spent 2008 budget for Subang all in Kelana Jaya because on 8 March 2008, he was standing in Kelana Jaya so all our money in Subang Jaya was spent for other people, is that a fair statement? I don't think so but I am willing to say it in front of Lee Hwa Beng if he shows up in front of me... so he can defend himself...

Is the padang grass really left unattended? Tell us where, post a pic and I guarantee you I will shout out to MPSJ cc Hannah Yeoh

I believe residents in SJ/USJ will call the MPSJ office (03-5637 6545) to report to the council of areas that need the council’s action like resurface a road with potholes, etc. Ordinary residents like us normally don’t have close connection with politicians and maybe that’s why things don’t move at the speed we expect.

Well... Jan, since you have reported which stretch of road with unbearable potholes and we have someone in the forum who claimed to be able to help passing the resident's concern to YB Hannah. Let wait and see, hopefully the road may get resurface soon.

I got to understand that Persiaran Tujuan is under MPSJ (or state) jurisdiction and P Kewajipan is under Federal. Perhaps its one major reason who can be allowed or limits to do whatever. I find it silly system where 2 main roads in the same area are under different governance. This seems the case where some street light maintenance or repair is divided between TNB and MPSJ. I had thought any streetlight problem is to TNB...not the case.

We cannot expect any MD of a factory to personally see that every machine bolt is tightened up properly on the factory floor.
Top management can only oversee and monitor the situation closely with some good system and follow up. When things get out of hand, it must be addressed and corrected. This is all in the art of management, competency and efficiency, don't matter country level, state level, to the smallest commercial or public concern. I don't need to explain more...its all obvious.

Problems come from those pseudo members who have inferiority complex and wanted to show their loyalty as more beeEnd than beeEnd, or more pr than pr.. !!

Look at Penang, those ultras who create havoc are mostly those who run an eatery of a popular malaysian food and majority of them look different with their party’s members.

I've already mentioned in relation to THIS IS MALAYSIA or its current circumstances which lead to the following: Its not a matter of reckoning the reasons but it been obvious all along and should have been addressed on a consistent basis.
1) It takes a lot of money to maintain this country on par with some developed country. The rakyat could be at crossroads of "Public funds must be wisely spent" OR "more taxes imposed for expenditure" The choice is obvious but all may not have faith it the 1st choice to happen.
2) Our road surface will deteriorate faster than some German standard autobahn due to the harshest weather (frequent heavy rain and flash flooding can inflict the most damage or deterioration), consistent heavy traffic which is not fully regulated to minimize road damage from commercial vehicles that frequently flout safety or other regulations ply these roads which were not meant for them to use on a regular basis. Patching holes like your blue jeans is a very very short term solution. It'll go back to square one very soon...no need to guess. Do you think Persiaran Tujuan is suitable or meant for trailers and huge commercial vehicles from the industrial area to Federal Highway? Note that USJ Subang is flanked by 2 huge industrial areas.
3) Minor repair works by all sorts of contractors based on the cheapest price or just to see it through can all have questionable or disappointing results. I'm sure many have observed repairs that seem shoddy or inconsistent anywhere is certainly a waste of public funds. Why is Malaysia like this?..point to local work attitudes and culture thats not really changed nor improved greatly. The law, regulations, procedures are all in place. What else is needed?..everyone can go figure their own conclusion.

Imagine my friend had to change his expensive car's absorbers after 2 years or slightly over 50,000 km:eek:

I think the very worst "holes" or obstacles are those badly leveled manhole inspection covers that are often seen right in the middle of one lane or worse still along the tyre path. Why are they there?
They were NOT there when the road was initially built. They become part of the lane feature when the road is widened. Road can change, the manhole cover doesn't. When its run over constantly, it can deteriorate or sink in, thereon a potential hazard to car suspension. Contractor who retar the road, have to carefully level that cover again for a seamless condition, but more often than not, you can feel the bump if driven over. As usual lah..Malaysia don't pay attention to detail in work..only when it becomes a huge problem.
I recall some decades back at Section 14 PJ, in front of Jalan Semangat / Kemajuan traffic lights, (where Jaya 33), a motorcyclist hit that deteriorated pothole and died. Prior to that, NOBODY did anything, only till someone horribly died, something was done. I think that obstacle still exist todate. I'll check and see again soon. That incident will never be forgotten.

My POV is garbage disposal and road potholes are among the top 2 huge issues that persist for so long, maybe forever. All town or city councils anywhere have to place most importance and priority in addressing it efficiently.
But knowing local work culture, its becoming apparent the system or whatever in place cannot address those issues efficiently. On one hand we have a over-regulated country with all sorts of governmental regulations and procedures to follow in getting things done, but is obvious that it doesn't work well in the best interest of the country. All sorts of issues can give rise from corruption to inefficiency or dismal performance.

I suppose Malaysia have to rely on the general public to take care of outstanding issues in this form.
http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/fed-up-with-kls-pockmarked-roads-bikers-take-matters-into-own-hands

I have mentioned before, Malaysia is in the tropics and nature's forces can accelerate issues to an overwhelming level moreover it takes a lot of money or funds to address these issues to an acceptable or best level.
One water flood and its obvious the amount of damage it can cause.

Look at Petaling Jaya roads now?.. HORRIBLE!..your car suspension will wear out faster than it should!. The road condition is worse than it was in WW2 era! .

Not just PJ, all over Selangor. There was one case in Shah Alam, a man died due to fall from his bike when passing a pothole at night. The government was sued.

Look at Taipan, they were patching up some potholes and left some unattended!

On PJ case, Not too long ago, it came out in the paper, the council failed to use allocation given to resurface road.
