First and foremost, I like your reply.. :)

I always like technical people who talk facts, not like those self-proclaimed "car enthusiasts" in this forum !! ;)

....

Admin note - this is the comment that started it all ... suddenly issuing an unprovoked personal attack.
Note - the thread was about turbo-charged cars (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?37445-Turbocharged-and-Naturally-Aspirated-%28non-turbo%29-cars-What-s-your-experience)

And if you have RM1.7 million to put down on this car, you don't need to be a technical expert or even pretend to be a technical expert like some people, just register the car and drive it out of Glenmarie showroom, no need go and try to learn more details...

There are people who love simple life, they don’t brag about material possession.

What is important to them is to spend quality time with family every day.. especially in weekend for a good dinner.

What is the point with a flashy sport car when you have to face the empty 4 wall in a hotel every weekday and weekend, worse when you are already over your prime and more than half a century old...

I guess different people have different destiny and fate. Not everyone has the opportunity to spend quality time with wife and children for good times. I feel sorry for them.

Why do people worry how others lead their lives? Why can't they just go back and spend quality time with their families rather than talk about it but spend half the time on this forum trying to fight a fight or criticise others or trying to create more nicks... sick people!

I enjoy what I do and I love the hotels I stay in and the people I mingle with for business and leisure.... not just use hotel names for my nicks... :heheheh:

The above comments were posted to the thread on turbo-charged cars (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?37445-Turbocharged-and-Naturally-Aspirated-%28non-turbo%29-cars-What-s-your-experience) in the first 2 days in August

Unfortunately, I was overseas for a week on vacation from 27/7 to 3/8
I checked the Forum whenever I had WiFi from my hotel room late at night but towards the end of the vacation, I was totally knocked out and could not check the forum. As my luck had it, our 2 friends decided to have a go at each other when I wasn't looking

When this was brought to my knowledge a couple of days ago, I checked and found that mercure had started his instigation. It was not provoked in this thread but it appears that his snide remarks were made based on their ongoing arguments from the past.

Look guys, we cannot have this thing about past arguments popping up suddenly out of the blues. Why is it not possible for mercure to let bygones be bygones and start anew? Mercure came back as a new nick and I allowed for that with the unwritten rule and hope that he would start anew and forget the past. However, he did not. There was also another post by Sentinel that disturbed him and in my private messaging with mercure, it was revealed to me that Sentinel made a comment way back in May. Hey, I replied...why bring up the past? If anything, there are tons of stuff in the past we can all refer to. Those are ghosts that come back to haunt you if you allow for it.

In a public forum, we must learn to forget and get along with life, especially so if you are allowed to get a new userid.

For this latest outburst and unprovoked personal attack (despite it being motivated from past arguments), I have no choice but to take mercure out of the forum.

The basic rule is quite simple. NO ARGUMENTS in a public forum
If one cannot get along with this rule, then be prepared for the eventual action

I am not being "unfair" to mercure and his past identities.
Nor am I favouring Sentinel (you can ask Sentinel - he don't like me or my moderation style anyway)
I am just acting by the book - no arguments, PERIOD

Dear Chang,

For your info and to share with other forumers also, I am actually the “so-called car enthusiast” that Mercure tried to hit at as mentioned in his post. Mercure is a technical guy in this field and he likes to make fun of me being an amateur in this field. He has been doing this since the time when he was using the nick of “Rhiga”. We know each other for long. Sometimes I just hit him back or I just ignore it as I know his style of writing.

Since I have publicly cleared your doubt and your mistake (in which you think he was hitting at Sentinel), can you also revoke his ban and issue a public apology to him.

Naka, how then do you resolve the 2nd statement mercure/rhiga made right after the Porsche photo
...What is the point with a flashy sport car when you have to face the empty 4 wall in a hotel every weekday and weekend, worse when you are already over your prime and more than half a century old...

I guess different people have different destiny and fate. Not everyone has the opportunity to spend quality time with wife and children for good times. I feel sorry for them. He was going for Sentinal's jugular and not a friendly poke at you.

Message from Mercure:-

Chang, I think you are confused and you have mixed-up with different comments. I am only referring to this comment “ so-called car enthusiast " which Mercure was poking on me. Because in your admin note you stated that this comment started the provocation. I think I need to clarify in this moderation thread that you have made a mistake as Mercure was not hitting at other forumer. He contacted me on that night and he told me he was making fun with me.

The subsequent posts are not related to me. The way I look at them is he was provoked after someone said about “pretend as technical expert” and he hit back with remark of someone have to face empty 4 walls in a hotel room every weekday and weekend, etc. These comments are none of my business as there are irrelevant to me.

As you have pointed out many times that you are not being unfair to Mercure/Rhiga, since I have cleared the doubt and clarified your mistake/misunderstanding about the particular comment that he made which you think started the argument, It will be good you revoke his ban and apologise to Mercure for your mistake.

Thanks
