The article is about the experience customers have with HSBC in the UK. How about local customers' experience with HSBC here?

How could I not respond to this question?....

"is this a rumor"?......Don't believe everything you read in Forums! :heheheh:......just because some MSM writes up about people having difficulty withdrawing money [large amounts, that is] doesn't mean THEY ARE GOING TO COLLAPSE!! :)

Besides, its an 'Old story',..... in this fast evolving, current economic global situation ;)......if you followed the 'Stormy Year Ahead' Thread, you won't be asking this :D.....and you'll know that this 'is the least of your problems' for the year/s ahead!

Oso, locally you are 'protected'....upto 250K I believe [correct me if wrong]......if they go down, [they won't - not now I assume].....you'll get your money back.....Someday! :heheheh:

Enjoy your CNY first.....Worry later! ;)

HSBC Taipan, no problem so far..

Deposits in bank are automatically protected by PIDM up to RM250,000 per depositor per bank.

The last time I checked, HSBC is still a member of PIDM.

p/s : Well, we have to be alert of parrot in web forums (usj.com included). They like to post bad news with vested interests.. Just have to be careful when there are people who ask you to visit their pet thread.. ;)
