I visited the VOLVO showroom in Glenmarie to see the V40. There is the V40 T4, V40 T5 and V40 XC. All very nice. How I wish I can own one.

As for evironmental friendly cars, the Europeans are taking the turbo diesel route but the low quality diesel here means few distributors are bringing in such cars. My friend has one. His exhaust particulate filter keeps clogging causing the car to go into limp-mode due to the excessive soot from the lousy diesel until he got fed-up and remove the filter which means it is back to square one. And the filter costs a few hundred buck to replace each time. :)

There are two approaches to tackle the toxic gases emitted to environment, the 1) engine and/or the 2) fuel. There is a limit on the improvements of engine and most of the focus now is on the improvement of fuels.

Malaysia currently is still using Euro2M as the fuel Standard but most of the new vehicle notably the continental cars are fitted with Euro5 engine. For example, the Volvo V40 (T4, T5 and cross country) all fitted with Euro5 engine.

For those who like diesel power plant, refill your diesel at stations in which the oil company does not run a refinery in this country. There are only two such oil importer-retailer in this country.

Just to share, Malaysia is short of diesel but long on petrol. Fuel stock-out is a legal offence and oil company sometimes have to buy spot cargo from open market to avoid hefty fine caused by stock-out. The oil-refining countries in this region would normally have Euro3 and Euro 4 stocks. These spot cargo from outside Malaysia will normally flow into Klang valley as this is the place with highest fuel demand.

The RAPID project in east Johor will be delayed due to land dispute and other issues and hence it is unlikely to have Euro4M fuels by 2016 as scheduled earlier.

And Shandong Power's JV with local listco Gadang for the 1500MW thermal power plant is only at drawing stage - hope I can supply the coal.... hehehe...

Another thing dun read my mind and put words into my mouth piece. 1st, i happened to score the distinction of being the highest paid Sellman in the whole of Perak with highest incentive earned, - youngest and probably most handsome one back then. And the whole bunch from the iconic manager Mr Oo1 and his unit of gangnam staff used to crack over my jokes whenever I balik kampung for monthly meeting. So, I was not Ipoh punya base. Then in USA pergi, I was inside out kitchen to toilet, dining room to hosting where I was helping to MANAGE a 500 seater YanKee buffet in New Jersey within a week of arrival with the title of MANAGER. And I damn paid taxes with US Tax ID and My salary was credited to Wachovia Bank opened with a valid State ID. ( cos I aint stupid and crazy where I stand no chance with my USD 2,500 salary if I meet any robbery where the hoods are trigger happy. Pelik tapi benar, why was allowed into MY country without having my passport impounded by MY immigration officers for illegally staying in overseas like the rest of jumping plane chinamen? Sumore, I could renew the passport at the Highcom in NY city? And How come I should listened to my brothers for not going back soonest possible as my Mum was too critically sick? How can I leave my 8 months pregnant wife with 2 year old baby and return alone? Why must I be dumb not to return and leave my wifey aged mum of over 78 years old in MY kampung without her only dotter in Malaysia? Why shouldnt I be greedy with USD instead of MY ringgit? This is how misunderstandings lead to arguments

I understood how all this arose. The thread was about hybrid cars and that lead to refined fuel and power supply to charge the car batteries (both fuel and electricity are essential items of hybrids). Rhiga was referring to lack of diesel refineries here and SiangMalam commented on the refinery and followed up with comments on power generator (which burns coal)

Zinglicious (with the usual chip on the shoulder) misunderstood and picked on SM for mentioning coal in the thread about hybrid cars and thus commented that SM was using coal to power hybrids

All I can say is that it takes only a warped mind to REACT like that where a harmless mention of coal to power generator to electricity for hybrids can take a detour like this
