Looks very much like usj.com.my is inactive (instead of saying its almost dead) with hardly more than 5-10 posts per day despite its hot political campaign period.... just my personal opinion...

Hi SM

The action is red hot at Lick Hung thread.
The chatter box area should heat up after the nomination day.
FYI as at now, SJ/USJ is calm and quiet.
The action is happening at focus area down south in Johor, and rural and semi rural areas across the country.

The heavyweights will slowly be in town after nomination day this weekend.
They can't take urban seats for granted.

Too many jaws and paws there to handle.. have to take on a few of them at the same time !!

My only concern is, you will get too agitated and use your magnum or revolver after reading all the unjust real life episodes in a Chinese primary school, one of the best in this country summore !! :D

Damn, I reach a state that I have to hide the fact I am a product of Chinese education. Just too shameful to be associated with the bunch of crooks in Chinese school.

Its not just the 'hot?' political period.....this Forum has been 'dying of sorts' ......as far as 'such' Threads go.......over time now.....couple of reasons I'd say....

From the political standpoint.....Forums like this, no longer hold court as an avenue for such discussion, other than apart from a few old folks [as in members ;) here}.....most have decided, and so..... not so much to discuss here anymore :).......as I see it, its more like a 'bunch of friends' updating each other on select events....that all that's happening here. :D

The lack of activity....is also probably on account of a lack of new 'active' members.....esp. of the younger kind - the 3M new voters..........these folks don't need an old and outdated avenue like a 'forum' to share their thoughts on GE13......esp. one which is so closely guarded by its 'select' members who can't wait to scare the wits out of anyone new who dares share any opinion which go against the tide here ;-).......besides, why should they even bother - they have their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and a multitude of other platforms which instantly updates on their mobile devices and understands their lingo :D

Bottom line, we [as in this Forum] are outdated - old and out of sync with today's fast moving media.

Not to forget too........pushing all politico related to 'Chatterbox' has worked well for the Mods too....it falls below the 'fold' [a reference to anything below screen level - which you need to scroll down to view].......this means those who pop in here for a quick look, will miss seeing it ;)...........anyways, that technically is not relevant anymore because.....there's hardly anyone 'new' here to be made aware off :heheheh:

People are not reading the 'politico' in Chatterbox, or they don't 'click on through' for more info....OR, they were already made aware about it on their FB......

How do I know?

Here are 2 links from my post in Chatterbox...

This Link (http://goo.gl/nj0IS) > to Ambiga's very good talk on 'Why you must vote this time'.....got 4 hits so far....
This other link (http://goo.gl/BBNbs) > on a good article on 'Why I shall vote in GE13'......got 6 hits

But on the other hand.....the link I placed to PSY's Live Concert in Seoul last weekend got 75 hits to Youtube, not counting the 445 views here :D

Makes me wonder - What is the 'mood' of the rakyat this time around?.....Maybe it will 'heat-up' after nomination day, as someone said.....I'm not too sure

The Lick Hung thread is surely hot now, it is just 2 days after AGM.

Rhiga, you are doing fine but save some energy for the time being. Occasionally can whack some of those cyber troopers. Have full force out just a couple days before 28 Apr. :D

I agree with SM, damn boring..the usual debate not there, maybe they are busy elsewhere...

Honestly, its just too much each time you post something slightly political and it gets pushed to elsewhere hidden from regular view! And they come and tell you this forum is to discuss only dog pooing in the park and garbage collection.... sudahlah!

And then its get weary each time we have to re-start a discussion or discourse because someone comes in and tells his version using languages I "kennot understand summore because your 1PM oso dunno say what maybe spend too much time in the kitchen oredi...." so looks like I am also migrating elsewhere....

All of you are right
And yes, bulletin boards are now past due... as Kuma rightly mentioned, there is Facebook
At the moment, Facebook is the scene.
And my kids are into Instagram
Tomorrow it will be something else while we shrivel and dwindle ....

Facebook and Instagram might be the fad now but its different. Webforum is where we can discuss and refer back and post pictures, links and even post videos etc and we can easily retrieve back or read whenever we are free...

Honestly I think the way you already start shafting political articles to elsewhere obscure already tell us you do not welcome politics...

We cannot run away from the fact that politics is part and parcel of our life , more so in this period and it should be a little more open to comments and views.

As much as I could like wanting to read what I'd like to read here, but when opinions fly around here, numerous views are very direct, point blank even though it may hold blunt truth to some degree and VERY BRAVE. Yes, not that I'm siding the mod and make regulars here assume its politics unfriendly, but this is MALAYSIA!..Freedom IS CURTAILED! and if in ANY event or excuse forum shutdown, suspended or a number of people sued and complicating people's lives and didn't ask for it, anyone or group brave enough to come forward and share the brunt of what come may? And not to mention this playground will be no more. Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but if I say "THIS IS MALAYSIA, not USA or Hyde Park"!..does mean something!

BSLee, let me as blunt as well.

You heard about the elephant story I'm sure. An elephant when young, and tied to a stake, cannot move away. Later on when he grows big and strong, he also cannot move away from the stake because he was programmed since young he cannot move away from the stake.

So, if freedom in Malaysia is curtailed as you suggested and there is nothing we can do about it, then so be it. We are all just like the proverbial elephants then.

We should all also vote BN just in case they know who we vote for....

He has been named. He's Wong Chen, a lawyer from PKR. He is making his rounds with YB Hannah Yeoh being introduced.

I don't care if anyone believe me or not. FREEDOM of speech or actions IS CURTAILED in this land ever since colonial days and HAVE been such in various degrees and possibly at worst state this 21st century!.
My FIRM belief is, IT WILL NOT CHANGE by whoever rules this land! PR or BN!.. anyone dare to assure it can change?..I don't think so!

Wong Chen has the backing and support from Hannah...that is endorsement & good enough for me.

Wong Chen needs volunteers. Go to his facebook https://www.facebook.com/wongchenpkr
and register with his volunteers...also look out for his soon to be announced ceramah in our area.

If you want to read or post the latest groans and grunts pertaining to GE13, Lowyat Forum is a good distraction. There, anything goes...well up to a limit. You can be pro-BN or pro-PR. Here's the link http://forum.lowyat.net/MalaysiaVotes2013

There are a couple of trends which should be highlighted
1) The increasing use of mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) in preference to laptops or desktops to access the internet
2) The rise of social networks eg Facebook, Pinterest, Linkedin etc.

You either go with the flow or see a decreasing readership.
In order to revive the forum, here are my suggestions to address the above points

1) Go mobile. Some time back I suggested that USJ Forums needs to supports mobiles but it seems that suggestion was ignored. Either you have a mobile friendly theme or support Tapatalk which is an app that can be installed on mobile devices and can read vBulletin forums. The forum plugin is free.
2) Integrate with Facebook. Have a USJ.com.my presence on facebook and research ways to integrate vBulletin forum posts with it. In case you don't know how, here's a start (http://bit.ly/14WRCGQ)

Good luck

You are right, nowadays other than the main trend, others look boring and very few comments.Even the main trend has fewer comments.Looks like everyone to chip in some new topics.
