Should we stay indoor for a week or should we pack some stuff and cabut somewhere like Temenggor Dam nearby or perhaps hop on a ferry to Langkawi... hmmm that is a tough decision to be away for the whole week becoz I am getting off to Indonesia for a whole week next week to go island hopping from Kalimantan to Sulawesi to Flores (now re-named Nusantara Timur) to cari makan and we can't leave the house unattended for so long as the neighbors all cabutted already....

Why am I in such a difficult spot? Read it here:

You have the nice island for 10 months in a year, so good to let others have a few days too!

I agree with Raikonen.....don't be tied down to your house....as long as your loved ones are with you or cared for...BE FREE....BTW, don't suppose you have a Mutt [as in cute doggie :)]....but if you do, look into their needs too....they are very sensitive to their Masters being away for extended periods.

Go Enjoy....Be Free....check out the Tropics before it all changes after the coming Pole Shift :heheheh:

Haha...the usual lor !! It's the same everytime there is a long holiday. Btw, which part of Sulawesi you going? North or South? If going North, and if you havent done Manado/Bunakan, find time to do it. Beautiful for scuba or snorkeling! One of the best !!

Mostly in Northern Sulawesi... around Buol and Gorontalo (our mines are located here) and sometimes in Palu and Poso as well... and I love Manado! Yes, Bunakan is one top diving spot listed as Top 10 in the world by PADI diving assoc. Nice and cheap ikan bakar too... my buddy from PJ brings his own soya sauce and Chinese rice wine to steam the garoupas because the Indonesians only bakar their seafood... so he steams his own fishes...

The only thing real sayang is we dunno how to prepare Lobster Thermidor so we just steam them with egg white and if steam too long, it becomes Lobster Rubber haha...

There is some riots in Poso right now between the Christians and the Muslims and some home-made bombs being used... so we stay away for a while...

Patrick, go explore Flores (now known as Nusantara Timur).. south of Sulawesi and next to Komodo Island where the Komodo dragons are found... good diving spots and good culture of mixed Hindu and Muslim like Bali... we had a whole nangka (jackfruit) for just equivalent of USD1 lah hahaha and it was so huge my team of geologists all no need eat dinner!

Yeah la the sea food there is really fantas! Fresh and good ! And you are right...everything bakar, bakar !! It's sad to hear the Christians and Muslims are fighting again. Thought they had selesai everything !! Looks like no end to it!
Yeah...some friends had invited me to join them to Komodo Island before, but they mention Flores. I suppose they would have gone there too! You are one lucky bloke !

Musang King, Ang Hay, Kunyit, Ang Sim, Tekkar, Bak Eu (Pork Lard), Lin Fong Chia are famous Penang varieties ex-Balik Pulau.
