Surely every responsible resident here in Subang won't like illegal posters and adverts which are an eyesore.

A lot of time, effort, labor and financial resource can be saved if these activities are minimal or nil, but just happen its not to be. All these resources can be put to better use. MPSJ or whoever don't work for FREE!
I really hate this and its like a lawless place where very irresponsible parties will do such things eventhough there's regulations long in place.
A TNB switchbox opposite my place seems to be a frequent target of illegal posters, and I did make some effort to remove them when it happened. They really messed it up and I HATED this kind of vandalism, like we live in a uncivilized community without ambition to improve.
Would anyone do anything if these flers are in the process of sticking these bill? I WOULD!.. I would immediately call the police if it happens near my place!
I just puke at such things still going on and on...seems no end to it!
Perhaps a 3 year sentence and few strokes of rotan would do justice... pity hard headed offenders need this kind of justice, only then they'd probably learn something!
FINES DO NOT DO ANYTHING nor improve things much in this land! Malaysia seems ALWAYS HAVE TO LEARN THINGS THE HARD WAY!

You think this is Police's work?

Maybe Saudara Rajiv can offer some suggestion to contain the problem, if PDRM assistance cannot be sought. This problem isn't new. Problems like this will not be contained if general public don't do something either. Those responsible will become bolder OR already bold enough because little or no action against these activities.

bslee,

I share the same sentiments. But in USJ, it's futile effort. I tried...believe me , I tried.... removing and then it came back again and again and again. They won. Hence, I moved out. Now, I'm staying in a place where guards man all the perimeter of the where I stay. I have a piece of mind now....

I reckon this problem is rampant in closer nit housing estates where obviously there's a larger audience to adverts. When I was staying in a nice area within PJ for quite a period in my earlier life, it was virtually almost nil, except for a few "lorry sewa" kind on roadside trees. I would sympathise with shop owners who's main roller shutter would be filled galore with adverts once the property is deemed vacant or awaiting future occupation. Its just a terrible culture and contribute towards a rough and uncivilized culture existing despite rule of law and regulations. Yup!..blame gahmen for not doing much, but rakyat must also help in the crusade. One or two eyes closed to the problem won't solve or contain the problem.
Actually its commendable to hear of MPSJ in the news taking effort to remove these eyesore, nevertheless Subang people could also help, IF they have any concern, love and desire to live in a more disciplined and well maintained housing estate. Just hope people reading this will help, otherwise the problem will just persist till no end.

It's a waste of public fund to send PDRM and the MPSJ to remove the illegal posters and stickers. Why not just amend the by-laws to enforce heavier fines on the culprits and at the same time asking them to do community work like removing the posters and stickers ? I think this is the best solution to start with.

If you wanna know - this illegal posters (and banners) are usually put up LATE at night - when most people/residents are sleeping.

What I don't understand - is why can't MPSJ go after the advertisers as the name, address and telephone numbers are usually printed on these illegal posters/banners! Give them a couple of STIFF fines and you would never see these posters/banners come up again...

But what we see is nobody give a damn once these posters/banners come up... leaving me with a sense of suspicion that perhaps certain people are taken care off to look elsewhere instead of bringing/removing these illegal banners/posters,,,

Legal issues on that....say I put up a poster offering 'Hot Massages' :D with your phone number....I'm the offender....onus is on them proving that you contracted me to do it.....just because your number is on it doesn't make you the culprit....if that be the case, then anyone can fix you up real bad

Unfortunately in bolehland the reverse applies - as with the recent amendments to the Evidence Act "just because it was posted on your blog, or your IP address was used ~ the ONUS lies on you to prove your INNOCENCE... otherwise you are guilty as **** :p "
