Yesterday, I took a bus from JB to KL.

The guy at the counter displayed 'non-stop to KL', so I asked to confirm whether this is non-stop to KL and they confirm verbally that it is non-stop.

then during the trip, i found that 'non-stop' means

1 hour stop to makan
30 minutes stop to pick up more passengers in another place - a detour
30 minutes stop at seremban by making a long detour from NS highway.
15 minutes stop to pump petrol

The bus counter is transtar.

In the early 1990 s I was staying and working in Singapore and my wife of a few months was still staying in Penang. The only stretch of highway was from JB to Pagoj, Seremban to KL, A short stretch at Slim River and then the Ipoh Changkat Jering stretch. The rest were srill trunk roads.

It took me normally 10-11 hours to drive back! Mind you I enjoyed those driving days coz I owned a Toyota MR2 sports car Supercharged summore! With full freeflow Janspeed exhaust system too!

I was just 30 years old but I had to make stops at Air Hitam for a coffee and the best Bak Pau at the coffeeshop at the roundabout! Next stop was to say Hi to my Mum who was staying in Seremban. Then one more stop at Slim River for best Wanton Noodles and more coffee!

Next stop at Kampar or Gopeng and then all the way to Butterworth... Have to sleep in the car while it is parked in the ferry crossing over to Penang!

So if you don't allow the driver to stop and pee and puff and do some stretching, you are asking for it coz his steering wheel is not light like an MR2 okay! And worse, he does the same trip EVERYDAY!

Our Malaysian express bus should have at least 2 drivers for journeys more than 2 hours. During the break, after 2 hours journey, the driver should change.

If I'm not mistaken, buses from KL to Singapore and vice versa practise this.

This has bothered me for a while Chang, can you edit the heading from "cheaters" to just plain "cheats"?
