Under the headline "Checks on political funding (http://www.thesundaily.my/news/306549)", theSun Daily reported that, "MACC needs a specialised agency for the selection of candidates based on the quality and credibility to carry out its tasks that require specific expertise" as said by 1PM Najib.

So, that's a good time to ask the electorate to return BN with 2/3 majority. It was reported that Najib said, "God willing, if Barisan Nasional is given a two-thirds mandate in the next general election, the constitutional amendment will be done and the service commission will be formed."

Most striking, is that BN gov "had approved the hiring of 150 new personnel each year until the MACC achieves a strength of about 5,000."

Question is, "Do we really need that many additional staff in MACC?", or is this another attempt to mislead the public into thinking that MACC needs to hire more (inefficient) officers (just to collect their salaries every month)?

Even if they employ 50 thousand also no use if they only serve the ruling party. If they are independent then dont need so many and it would be interesting to see how is the composition of their recruits. then we will know if we are wan malaysia.

I don't know how you interpret the news - for me for MACC to increase instead of reducing staff means CORRUPTION IS MORE RAMPANT AND WORSE ....

Just like, I welcome the news that there will be LESS POLICE TO IMPLY LESS CRIME ... and not the other way round .... then again, that's currymee's coffeeshop logic ....

Bolehland has 27million people...macc gonna employ 5000peep...

Wassa the maths? or r we more stupid or incapable to conduct proper investigations?

eh can someone enlighten me a bit. with 150 per year, it will take 10 years to hire 1500. not too sure what is their size now but it will take them decades to do it?? also why does BN need 2/3s if the amendments are so great. surely the opps will also support and approve the bill, no?

Might as well send out 2,500 more cops to patrol SS1/15
or Kampung Tunku area in PJ, and another 2,500 for my
elder brother's housing area in Taman Tenaga, Cheras.

Both areas heavy crime rates.

Will we see more 'suicide' cases if we have more MACC officers investigating more ppl, or will we see more solved cases involving genuine corrupt officers and politicians? The overly exagerated strength needed by MACC may indicate it's ineffectiveness and inefficiencies rather than more corrupt officers to be investigated, remembering that MACC is just an old wine in new skin. It's modes operandi is still very much the same, of the same kind. With a bloated number of public servants on the increase, we will continue to have a heavy burden on the rakyat to keep up with the ever increasing operational expenditure year after year.

Before that, MACC have to check thier own house first. RM24,000,000 complex to house them with defects? http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2012/3/2/nation/20120302070806&sec=nation
