I am looking for contribution$ to buy glucosamine sulfate by the dozen bottles! Baby Ellie Chepor at K.Gandar Elephant Sanctuary, needs 'em to strengthen his patched up broken hind legs...U wanna contribute? Only RM50-60 per 90 tablets bottle. I need helluva lot! AND growing up milk too!

So if u wanna contrbute, just PM me...or if you have friends who are working for companies with these supplies and can buy at staff price..pls lemme know.

A wee bit of history: 6yr old Chepor broke his hind legs when he was been transported to a primary school last year. Then I started a fund going and collected some RM50,000, mostly from Tenaga, to rebuild a pen/wing & buy a heavy duty electric winch, to help Chepor to be moved around, hence saving 10-12guys from heaving/pushing/lifting Chepor daily!

Then a group of Engineer-lecturers, final yrs engineering students from UNITEN plus a biker engineer friend designed the set up. Chepor now only exercises his legs in the mini make shift swimming pool (in one of the holding pens where can we block off walls and viola! its a 5ft deep pool! )
Anyway, the vet told us We need to get him to stand on his feet and to do that he needs strong legs! and by Jove! this glucosamine sulfate helps!

Otherwise, this school hols, you can go to Kuala Gandar and make the generic contribution$ lah... there are many things to see and do including a free ellie ride. If U wanna volunteer, get hold me of...i can have you & kiddos help out in prepping lunch for the ellies there :D

Are you sure about this. I give glucosamine to oldies (in body, not mind) for degenerative joints or arthritis. If this baby has broken a leg and it is not healing, glucosamine in NOT going to help.

P.S. I am not an expert in treating ellies but some biological principles are common.

Glucosamine is not going to help weakened muscle. For most animals, it is very difficult to rehabilitate them after a broken bone. Thats why they "put down" horses when it happens. :(

So how? But I wanna do whatever I can...I 'lost' 2yr old spikey hair Madros 2 years ago...we rescued him after he fell into a kampong well, in midst of stampede after being short-gun blasted by the villagers. Mommy ellie got no choice but to abandon the baby ellie then...

Massive land clearing for palm, vegetation had encroached on the traditional ellie ground. With lesser junglevegetation etc, the herd of ellies got lesser food to eat. hence, they foray into kampongs, orchards and there they got short-gunned, poisoned, trapped on snares etc...sedih tapi benar.

Gomen doesnt care enough lah...
