Hi All,

Need some advice on how can I report this problem. I have a neighbour (bachelor) who does not care for his compound, leaving grasses grow unattended housing lots of centipede and milipedes. He also has a dog that he does not give much love whereby this dog literally looks sick and uncared for. Is there any way I can report this to the council or PAWs so that it get taken care off? I have spoken to him before on this and he just shrugs off our comments.

Bird droppings were a usual occurence on my fence as he does not care for the food he feeds his dogs leaving it for the birds to feed on instead.

I just need him to have some decent hygiene surrounding his premises and the back row as he throws his cigarette butts onto the drain. Please give me some advice. Talking to him does not help anymore as he does not care.

Nothing new. One house not too far away from mine, perpetually occupied by a bunch of machine installer blokes from day 1 the house was built, and its been unkempt eversince loaded with scrap and junk (less in front and behind like typical junkyard). Every other home in the row is very well upkept and beautified. What to do? Local 3rd class mentality and don't give any damn what others think.
In every housing estate there'll always be some people who think a house is only a roof under their head, to keep it beautiful, spick span is probably the last of their priorities.

Ceo684, it is his property. Initially when we bought it, he was attached (and dream big of renovating his porch this and that) apparently not for long, my hubby and I did not see his other half...

Don't we have any rights on such cases whereby it is affecting other neighbours health? Especially the bird droppings whereby every week my hubby and I need to clean up the middle portion of the fence due to the droppings. Occasionally he will let his dog roam free (mind you it is a Doberman) and this dog just performs his business everywhere.

Go to Toy R Us and get a really huge snake that look ferocious and real and on one of these nights ask your hubby to put it behind a box at his front door for him to wake up to in the morning.... better still for him when he comes home half pissed with his Kilkenny draft... watch him "fight" the rubber snake with whatever he has... he should get the message if he isn't that thick... and at least he would cut his grass... :D

Oh, while you are at it, ask hubby to scoope up as much of his Dobermann's droppings and leave it in a big scoop on his doormat, he should know its his neighbors sending him a message...
:D

Rajiv provided a link to the bye-law earlier.
Take a picture/video of the dog running around and also the house condition, then send it to MPSJ.
I think, that could be solid evidences for MPSJ to impose a fine and warning.

Maybe he is only renting that house & therefore couldn't be bothered & this happens everywhere :(

Everything is relative

What you described is NOT even close to what I encountered as a BAD neighbour........

Dog, bird droppings, long grass............... minor matters to me.

Are you saying a dog need to be leashed within a house compound? That is news to me

Unfortunately, good neighbours are not easy to come by nowadays.
What you face is nothing compared to mine- at least most of his troubles are in his own compound, I believe the council also cannot do anybthing about it.

My neighbour treat his house like an orchard and jungle, all his fruit trees are planted less than 2 feet from our common wall, you can imagine what creep into our house- all the branches with droppings of dead leaves, flowers, fruit buds and insects, plus fermenting smell. He even have a jungle tree which is 4 storey high just 2 feet from our wall, swaying and swinging in the wind, wondering when it will fall and cause problem.

Best to report to MPSJ and hope they can take it from there, Rajiv will probably help.
