Beware of pple come to hawker spots asking for donations

Hi,

Have you encountered people who approached you for donations where they have their tags and willingly showed you the files of the needy?

I always encountered this in USJ around the hawker spots next to wawasan school. And they always show their needy centers are from IPOH and NOT from other places like KL or other states.

Once we asked the man to leave us the address and name of the center which he claimed he is working for, he refused to even write down for us. He said only through cash and through him and he walked off feeling very disappointed. But to me is to test if he is genuine or not. we can just send cheques to the center. But he didn't let us do so.

So guys, I strongly believe there is a syndicate behind all this. Just like the beggars...they can do anything with newspapers, photographs and centers info in their files rite? and this time they show u the photocopied cheques pple donated. all in BIG SUM. very smart of them.

I hate people who use SUFFERING/MISERY of others for their own benefits. I hope people like these are given the "correct" punishment later.

Even the genuine ones, your guess is as good as mine as to what commission they earn and how much actually goes to the charity. I read somewhere, the agents take about 90% and 10% goes to the charity.

Sometimes these homes especially the smaller towns find it hard to survive,so these ppl came to help with conditions.To these homes,it's better than none.
