Restaurant? - not anyone has it with the KASH to run it and that applies to franchisee ones too. Just been told one of my friend running the local franchise kopitiam is folding up after just less than a year!

Nevertheless as in the case of no MSG restaurant, if only there are decent chefs who have a team of people by creating awareness with great advertisement a unique product for a niche market, it should be a runaway success according MBA playbook. But then it could be derialed if there are partnerships without KASH, greed or egoistic factors and poor managment could derailed the business eventually. :eek:

Anyway, I am sure Bill Gates was mocked when he decided to leave Harvard University to pursue Microsoft business which IBM discarded or Harrison Ford was told to quit by Columbia pictures and even Beatles was turned down by most recording corporations because their guitar music music was on the way out. Even Thomas Edison was told by the teachers he was too stupid but went on later to become one of the greatest inventors. Anybody who has lived long enough in Penang will tell you that more than 30 years ago already we have specialised no-MSG restaurants here! One of the best known used to be known as Three Dragons (San Tiau Long) but the three sisters split up and now its known as One Dragon (Ee Tiau Long). Its located at Gottlieb Road and I first had dinner there in 1985, 26 years ago, and there is a huge carved wooden sign that says NO MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE!

But you are right - am I dissappointed that I am NOT The FIRST pioneer in the no MSG. But still I am the pioneer in making the first shop on my menu, on my signboard with the Adver of no MSG all over my signature including usj.com where more than 5 forumers have had benefited from heallthy, yet tasty food with no MSG info and chicks.

BTW, I did not have at any point post any baseless gossips or wild accusations on tin ore or garlic investment deals. Is it good, bad or ulgy? Just no comments, period. I just read it and ignore it as my restauirant can only finish 1/1000 of the container per year. If by the Wills of God, I have that franchisee pipeline dream like Secret rRcipe , then I be calling your phone off the hooks instead of just PM

Wah lau...!! YES, YES I can now vaguely remember 3 Dragons!! But I havent been to that part of Pg for a long, long time!! Is the Dragon still there?? Wau!!! Now I mainly go to the rest at 1926 for my nyonya food and the other new outlets around Bayan Baru except for the old places like Sin Keng Aun and Hai Onn. Sorry to digress from the thread topic but I have to respond since my opinion has been sought. Rgds.

I opened the opportunities to forumers who have contacts for sugar and coal and garlic to make some quick bucks in terms of introduction fees, sales commissions and some even participated and make mark ups for themselves. I don't have to divulge their names BUT I CAN TELL YOU ONE PERSON YOU KNOW WELL DOES DO SOME TRANSACTIONS WITH ME, OKAY! I leave it to him to let you know or not.

Yes, Patrick, the restaurant is still there. About 8 tables on the outside and with only 1 private function room. Very high end restaurant now, prior booking and reservations esp when some dishes need a 48-hour pre order like their famous pork knuckles, the sea cucumber-musroom-3-layer pork in claypot / charcoal fire dishes.... The abalone / sharks fin soup is now RM55 a bowl, wahlau eh! :eek:

On the hand, you dont have to believe what I say about no MSG - good or bad as I am just the messenger for CAP ( Penang) to ACS ( American). In fact, you did asked about MSG claim and Coca Cola in the Healthy with no MSG thread.

I am not a gentleman, and would never be. However, which part of me sound of like pussy cat dolls? I am too ugly and bad to be given the homour of being a ladylike. Heck, I am not even bitchy enough to show it or to show off what I did or what I have done or what I am doing.

I am happy where people make monies out of thier investment especially forumers as they may be celebrating it by ordering oysters, lobster and caviar in my place just like that fella last 2 months ago who blew RM5,000 on the Chef Menu dinner for 10.

As it was pointing out of garlic and or tin ore in my remarks and not coal, why must you go to frennzy bits and pieces which at no time did I pour coal water on the investment at all. It was obvious, right because I can differentiate tin ore coals I come from Perak.

I dont use knife in usj.com and only use it to cut my steak. But if you are offended, then I would be gentleman enough to apologise for my non sensical posting. But The moderator find it to be advertising in nature. Anyway, I am still not bitchy about it. Very unladylike. :D

This Thai restaurant is also a no-MSG restaurant and located at the high-end residential area of Penang. It has been around for about 15 years now, I think, and its at the Hillside of Tanjung Bungah, have a look at an independent write-up HERE! Another high end so-called Mediterranean restaurant that pride itself of NO MSG is El Casa, hidden in Georgetown behind the Union Primary School along Service Road.... HERE! (http://stevengoh.com/) I am here about once or twice a month with my wife for dinner as we love the cosy atmosphere and personal service and of course a terrace / patio where I can sneak out and have a puff after my food.... :D

Let me get one thing straight - I am not giving any favours to SiangMalam. It is simply that I do not see how his garlic thread is a solicitation for business gain to himself? What I read was he had a load of garlic and asked if anyone would like a share of it. I do not think he was trying to sell off the container load on the Forum. I understand it to mean that he had a business opportunity and opened it for any reader to partake in it. It is more likely the participant may make lots of money or end up with a container load of garlic. Certainly I did not think he was selling garlic. That's how I saw it and hence I left it.

As for his other business ventures, when was he offering his services? I did not see that ... or did I miss it? Please PM me the location and I will review.

Putting up a huge splash of food pics in your case was advertising ... way beyond the food blogging that Patrick does. i did not want our Forum pages to look like advertising space with food advert boards all over the screen.

As I have said in the forum or in person,you have a hard task yet unrewarding job. And the task of deciding which get banned or banana or threads locked up. But then , sometimes it gets oblivious what needs to be done and seems consistent. There is some loose ends somewhere. I got a banana for jokingly calling YB NG Yen Yen for Ng Yum Yum but people gets away with it by calling TDM - Tun Mamak Kutty.

IMHO, when you say there should be no open solicitation of business , it should meant that. Others felt the same as well from the agent who is advetsing the opportunity in MLM or properties or grass cutting service by all Malaysians. It should be that unless the loads of tin ore comes withoiut personal interests or gains. Or perhaps it should be in the Flea column. In fact, I personally dont care whether they wanna to adver or not. If there are ugly, I just ignore it. If it is bad, I just question it, If it is good, I put up a recommendation over it without fears or favors. But seriously thed main board should be a general interest for info and issues.

I remembered as a newbie I was trying to solicit free workers i.e. students on holidays to work for experience, I was politely PM by you - it is solicitation. I respected that. Even when my thread healthy with no MSG get yanked off, I dont wanna to appeal to you as suggested by curry mee to take off the offending pictures and left the whole thing intact. ( My primary interest is I feel it is a useful links which I sometimes refer to when asked by forumers or my friends at www.facebook.com/zinglicious which I just actively blogging in absence of the the thread. But even then the info or the link was lost as it removed ). I dont wanna people you think that I am giving you free food for favours. :D

And as for arguing, there is nothing that I wanna to argue - I merely responding to the comments line by line if and whenever possible and where I am not cooking. I am just a Mean Chef - not Lady Like. To get a Banana for that - whether it is a deserving treat or not - I dunno.

Lastly, as you can see either from the numerous threads or the follow up threads, I just wanna to share my views from bull, dogs or frogs on political or social issues. And that over exceed the postings on food by kilometres away.

Chang, I said nothing except three words to someone who asked what is a good business to do with 200K? I merely type 3 words - "No-MSG Restaurant?" and hell broke loose okay... the rest of my postings were reactive and defensive, you can read it yourself.

As for my so-called adverts, they weren't adverts, it was that opportunities like garlic comes along and I am asking if anybody is in garlic and wants to import them? I am not selling garlic, I am merely linking opportunities with some enterprising forumers, which I shall not do anymore from today nanti orang naik jealous pulak! Criticised my business until its worth nothing, what the hell did I do or what bloody right does a person have to criticise what others do for a living?
