Sekolah Wawasan or the Vision Schools (to group National, Chinese and Tamil primary schools in one single compound under Mahathir premiership) enable children learning together within an area without regard for race or religion to foster solidarity, integration and respect among them by sharing school facilities and implementation of other extra-curricular activities. However, after much opposition, only a few such institutions were ever set up. Soon, 1-School will be setup.

Will 1-School & racial harmony be a success when Utusan & Perkasa is suggesting 1-Melayu & 1_Bumiputra ?
How much money & time will be wasted in it's implementation ?

They're only trying to treat the symptom not the cause. Education is important no doubt. Unless and until the policies are fair and no race politics, then this type of implementation will succeed.

I do not think all these 1-thingies will succeed as long as racism and inequality is here to stay. Wait. Let me rephrase.

I do not think all these 1-thingies will succeed as long as Utusan and Perkasa is here to stay. They are inciting too much hatred among the races, IMHO.

All they need to follow is a system where a 1-school has been success for years.

The Singaporean school syllabus is really good. They have a system where all three languages as subjects and is taught from Primary to Secondary schools.

Leave the other subjects like Maths, Science in English so our children can adapt well in higher level of institutions. Compare how successful Indians are worldwide compared to Chinese in their countries.

The government need to work smart by learning from other people's success and not politicize an important part of our lives like education.

I honestly doubt the Wawasan school actually worked in terms of integrity. I have nephew and friends' kids in TTCL school and they don't mix with the kids from the other two schools. What's the difference between 1-School and National School anyway? Racial harmony isn't just about lumping people together in one place, it's a lot to do with fairness and respect as a basis.
