Looking for a Sentra B14 for my son. Prefer the new model with air bag. PM me if you have one for sale, or know someone selling it. Thanks.

For your information, all cars above 10 years old are now subject to the following:-

1. Loading of at least 15%
2. You are forced to buy PA from them (any value)
3. You must follow their valuation (and not market valuation - e.g. if the car you bought is RM 10k but they value it at RM 20k, you must pay the premium based on RM 20k)

THIS iS NOT FAIR!!!

But do we have any choice...no!

Shop around for the insurance companies - maybe some are better than others...but I heard that many insurance companies are declining.

So better think twice before you buy a second-hand car > 10 years.

Most of my cars are more than 10 year old. They are so much cheaper when it is below 10 year old. My Camry is 15 year old but still run at 180 km/hr easily. My wife's Kancil was 17 year old when we sold it and it was very solid. Only spent $1,000.00 for repairs in the 4 years we had it. And yes, insurance for old cars is a bane. Fortunately, I buy comprehensive insurance for my Camry so the agent has to sell a 3rd party insurance to me. And the loading is not 15%. It is more than that.

A friend whose Sentra 1.6GX will be paid off this Nov. He mentioned about trading in for a hybrid. Not sure if he wants to sell now. Will PM you. Car bought in 2004(also 2nd hand).

Thanks but wrong model. That is a N16 and not B14. We saw a few cars at the Sunday car market and also private ads. Most are poorly maintained and had been in bad accident. Got to keep looking.

If the price is not far-off then you can consider getting the N16.

Very far off. N16 is above $30K while B14 is around $15K.

 Why don't you get a 96 Corolla SEG? Think it's around that price also.

Toyota cars are overpriced. Moreover the better model is the '94 and '95 model but they sell more than the '96 model!

Finally, bought a manual 1997 face-lifted model for my son. Took quite a while to find this popular model. Now thinking of getting the pre-facelifted model for my wife. It definitely runs better than the Iswara and Kembara we have. It has VTC even though it is more than 10 years old.

This B14 recorded 14 km/l on the highway. Very impressive FC. Nissan must be doing something right.

I used to have the 95 manual model till 2005, trade-in to get a Waja. Wonderful FC, during that time in terms of $, it's 8-10cents per litre. Cheap to maintain & powerful.

Do you know of any other cars that are 1.8 cc and above that give such good FC? Most big cars give about 10km/l and they are considered good already. Too bad. Good thing the newer Camry gives about 12km/l on the highway. I wonder the Vios has good FC or not.

Some say full tank 42L gives them 500km... well of cos not till empty. My Yaris gave me 1L-13km town, 15km on highway.

Wah, that is very good. I guess most subcompact cars give good FC.
