He was once the acting Secretary-General of the DAP when YB Lim Kit Siang was hauled and thrown into the slammer in Kamunting under the ISA. He was the MP for Kampar in 1969 and ADUN for Petaling Jaya in 1974. A frantic writer and a really good public speaker - thats Fan Yew Teng - who passed away recently.
He has a pair of twin daughters and one of them recently wrote a moving EULOGY (http://dinmerican.wordpress.com/2011/01/04/pauline-fans-eulogy/) in honor of her father.
A memorial will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 5th January @ 8pm at the YMCA Hall in KL. If you have the time and wish to remember another of the rare "towering Malaysian" do drop by the YMCA.
