I made a report at www.mpsj.gov.my on 21-01-2003 concerning the obstruction of pedestrian traffic pole along Persiaran Murni.

When I checked the complaint at the MPSJ website this morning, the status of the case are closed. But still I did not see anything being done to the said pedestrian traffic pole.

How effective do you guys think is complaint lodged at www.mpsj.gov.my ? Is the complaint section on the website just merely being there for the sake of having one ?

Below is the complaint I lodged and the respond from MPSJ :

In fact, the traffic light at the junction of Persiaran Murni to the road heading to Taipan is also obstructed by trees.

'DITUTUP' here means it's confirmed the traffic light is 'ditutup oleh pokok2'?

Metro Mail
Responsible way to road safety

HAS the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) noticed the numerous flaws in various road safety measures; traffic signals placed behind trees where motorists are unable to see them until it's too late or Berhenti signs that are ill-placed and perhaps out of motoristsí view because of their height and distance from the roadway?

As a 10-year resident of USJ, I witness, daily, motorists ignoring traffic safety control measures such as no-entry signs and crossing three lanes of oncoming traffic rather than drive 50m to make a safe U-turn.

Naturally MPSJ cannot address the stupidity of drivers who place themselves, their loved ones, and others at extreme risk by defying measures taken to protect them from harm.

It is, or should be the responsibility of the council to ensure the proper installation of traffic safety devices and then, the responsibility of every motorist to observe these signs and signals.

Watching drivers cruise through traffic signals that have already turned red and so many other flagrant traffic disobediences is frightening.

Road safety campaigns could be enhanced and the number of accidents greatly reduced through proper signage correctly positioned and stiffer penalties imposed on errant motorists. Responsibility is the key word to all concerned.

I hope something can be done to make, not only the USJ residents, but all Malaysians safer on our road system.

Concerned motorist,
USJ.

Forget the eAduan. If you merely post your complaint there without any follow up, it will just sit there looking pretty. I still use it to register my complaint. But I also call up the hotline contact too and constantly reminding them of the action to be taken. In one incident, it took me 2 months to get them rectify the grossly uneven grille covering the manhole at the U-turn before the USJ 12 secondary school heading out. In my eAduan, I stated that if anyone got killed should an accident occur, I will hold them responsible. That put the heat on them.

On the other hand, MPPJ are more efficient and have a sense of urgency. They don't boast of their e that and e this. They just get on to their job. Last Monday, I called their hotline informing them of the badly eroded stretch along Jalan Semangat next to the Section 14 mosque in front of Colgate-Palmolive. He confirmed that mine was the only complaint. Guess what? They paved it the following day! I then called them back and the poor fella who took my call said "En Yeoh, masalah itu telah selasai. Apa lagi kita boleh buat?" "Bukan tuan, saya talifon sekarang hanya untuk mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih. Syabas kepada MPPJ yang mengambil tindakan dengan pantasnya. Saya pun terperanjat."

I'm from residence of Bandar Kinrara Melody BK6E, recently we had log lot of complaints to MPSJ regarding the 2 taska & tadika which operated at our housing area and the total unit of houses not more than 93units in total (Low density residential area) Through the information we check from local goverment authorities guideline, we found that both taska & tadika was not complied to the requirement set by goverment however we're not understand WHY after several times of complaints had been made to MPSJ but no action to be taken furthermore 1 of the tadika still can get their license for operate???
