SHAH ALAM: The parent-teacher association of SK Bandar Kinrara is demanding the transfer of a Moral teacher who allegedly made racist remarks in class.
PTA spokesman S. Selvanathan, who lodged a police report against the teacher yesterday, said the teacher should not only apologise in writing to the parents but also be transferred immediately.
“This is to ensure that the incident does not happen again and to serve as a warning to other teachers that this sort of action will not be tolerated.
“The teacher should be transferred as she has prejudicial feelings (towards) pupils from a certain community. It is unbecoming of a Moral teacher who is supposed to be teaching elements of unity. She is a threat to national unity,” he said.
Selvanathan said that at a meeting held between the school management and officers from the Petaling District Education Office on Feb 5, the headmistress of the school claimed the teacher could not recall what she had said and denied uttering the alleged remarks.
“The headmistress said she doubted the teacher had made the remarks.
“However, she came to this conclusion without conducting a proper investigation. This clearly shows that she had already made up her mind and was siding with the teacher.”
He also questioned the leadership of the headmistress for “trying to sweep the matter under the carpet”.
“We want the headmistress to be transferred too because if she stays, the problems will persist and parents will lose confidence in her.”
