A-G’s Report : " PTPTN will face a deficit of RM45.89 billion up to the end of the 11th Malaysia Plan in 2016 "

Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said : “ Why PTPTN took so many years. It took them 13 years (1997-2010) and yet the system is still defective in terms of collections, tracing information as reported in the audit report ”

9th Malaysia Plan - RM8.56 bilion
10th Malaysia Plan - RM15.67 billion
11th Malaysia Plan - RM21.66 billion
12th Malaysia Plan - ???

Why is the Govt facing difficulty in recovering the above loan since 1997 ?

simple answers to why:

who's running the show and for whose benefits...

most damning glaring obvious issue - the approvals and disbursement of student loans to those that DIDN'T apply for it.... !!! [fact and not hearsay, reported by the Auditor General]

come to think of it... am still suprise that the A-G still has a job, after all the expose... :p

The problem is no one in the ruling gomen dares to go after these defaulters because of the fear that these defaulters would not vote for them. It is as easy to understand as this. Most of these people are working and the majority of them would be working for the gomen so what is so difficult to collect from yourself??

Back in 2007, the Mayor of Shanghai, Mr. Chen Liangyu, was arrested and now sitting in prison for life for creating a fictitious list of recipients for the Communist Party of China's Pension Fund. He was accused of embezzling RMB5.2 billion (thats approx. MYR2.5 billion). He might get a bullet through his head anytime now.... after he pays for the bullet.

He was China's third most powerful warlord since he was a Member of the Central Politburo as well as the Secretary of the Shanghai Chapter of the Communist Party was at one time even rumored to be the successor to President Zhang Tzemin but lost it to Hu Jintao (the incumbent President).

Sentinel,

The ex-mayor is still alive for a reason - power balance.
Gosh, the extravagance of his lifestyle can match any super tycoon..

I don’t believe you can find a good guy in the communist party of PRC.

Just like any movie, you need a good guy to fight villain because viewers wanted to see good guy to restore justice.

The so-called people President, Mr. Wen Jiabao is renowned as the people-friendly President. Every year without fail, he will spend his CNY eve in a farmer house, a soldier house or a miner house….. Is he really what he is, I hope he is for the benefit of the needy people.

But, I more incline to believe the Party knows the MAJORITY of the 1.3 billion population want to see a good guy, want to believe there is a good guy in the government…

I try not to be negative but I I can’t when come to the political reality of PRC. The complexity of the political dispute and the magnitude of the political cruelty are beyond imagination. It is always the pinnacle of the political war in the world. Millions of life is just a part of the collateral damage.

Just go to book store and pick up a few books on Mao and the cultural revolution.. you will know what I mean.

And if this is not enough to convince you, read the history of the ancient Middle Kingdom..

Sagamihara-san, Wen Jiabao is the Prime Minister, the President of China and the Chairman of the Joint Committee is Hu Jintao... :D

Bro, you are right but I am not entirely wrong.

You are right because it is true that the Prime Minister of PRC is Wen and the Chairman is Hu.

I am not wrong because in Mandarin, the Premier, President and Prime Minister are always interchangeably used.

They called Wen as Premier which also carry the same meaning as President.

Even if the government fails to collect the loans, why are the borrowers not doing anything to pay back?

I've heard of horror stories and its them that "just don't want to pay back"...possibly is one major bad attitude. Borrow know...payback don't know...buat bodo saja...maybe until there's a serious threat to their being...baruuuuu bayar..Gahmen can't be sending in debt collectors or seen to act like Ah Long mahh!
I've heard of their guarantors suddenly go beserk, raving mad and cursing left right and center... orang sendiri kan????
Very sorry state!
The gahmen should just drag them to court...no questions asked...they can have their day in court...tapi...what we hear are threats only...something like when PDRM announce in the papers to operasi XXXX to catchup with those who skip traffic saman. All too familiar???
Yah!...BELAJAR TINGGI TINGGI BUAT APA hah?...Lepas belajar sekolah tinggi tinggi, simple basic and responsibility of paying back the loan (even then can payback in VERY SIMPLE INSTALMENTS...INTEREST ZERO PUN) pun nak lari... liedat nak jadi model for the future of Malaysia ah! Simple thing can't do, wanna run this country???.... Cheh!
